Thank you for the tutorial video! I was just thinking of changing my RP3+ joysticks and wasn’t sure whether it would be easy or difficult to open up the device. Your video is really helpful and very well put, looking forward to future videos!

Hey, FYI the regular Switch Joycons have a bigger cap on top. Makes it harder to reinstall but can be done.

Iv found them, is there a deadzone issue? My left stick is failing
@MajinWamu Жыл бұрын
I tried this modification, but eventually removed the joysticks because there was a slight outer dead zone. It's very small, but it would make it very difficult for Mario to jump out of water in Super Mario 64. I was looking at other videos to see if they encountered the same issue, and I've only found a case on reddit. They suggested to not put in the black frame...watching this video and reading the comments, it sounds like you didn't have this issue...I'm curious why I was encountering it.

Did you buy the Gilikit?
@MajinWamu Жыл бұрын
@@ModModRc Yep. I got it to work eventually. You need to keep fiddling with the calibration, until things adjust to your preference. Took many tries. At one point the stick got too sensitive so I had to adjust the sensitivity.

my RP3 have no drift issues yet but i plan to change analogs to hal before it happens, although RP3 & RP3+ are only good for 5th gen consoles or lower and ports the consoles that will handle up to 7th gen consoles are too expensive so I will stay on the RP3 for a long time

It is still a solid machine. The RP4 and pro may come down in price once the RP5 is rleased later this month. So you may be able to score one of those at a discount.

Can we take the analog triggers from the retroid flip? That would perfect the rp3+. And maybe the intercooler too 🔥

Genshin Impact. It is available on Android, iOS, PS4/5, and Windows. It is also cross-play / cross-save compatible. It’s a great game if you haven’t given it a look. Link: genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/home

I bought those hall sticks and put them in my ayn odin instead because they're identical to the odin sticks. I thought it needed the upgrade more than my retroid Nvm i got the ones off the retroid website. They may be different

Is there enough space to add skull&co thumb grips(for switch) to gilikit sticks? BTW great video!
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
I don’t have these to test, but I believe you should be fine. In the worst-case scenario, you might need to recalibrate the sticks with them on. The Gilikit sticks are slightly thicker than the original sticks, so if the Skull & Co grips add a significant amount of additional thickness, you might notice reduced travel in all directions.

Hey thx for the vidéo in have a question : joystick for Switch/ joycon are compatible with retroid pocket 3+ !?
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
If you’re referring to installing generic Joy-Con joysticks into the Retroid Pocket 3+, I’m not certain, but it’s likely possible. If you’re asking about pairing the Joy-Cons and using one as an external controller for your Retroid, then yes, absolutely, this works. Simply pair it as a Bluetooth controller and it should appear under Bluetooth devices that you can connect to. I believe you need to connect the left and right sticks individually.

Hey bro i need your help Can we put roms onto a sd card using only a mobile device
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
Hey @itzgreyish711, it is possible to download and install ROMs onto a mobile phone through the browser. After that, you can transfer the ROM to the SD card using the files app. I must admit that it isn’t the easiest or most user-friendly thing to do. Having a PC/Mac would be really helpful in this case. Even connecting your phone to a PC or Mac (via USB using an application like Android File Transfer www.android.com/filetransfer ) would make things much easier. Hope that helps.

fair warning as I have done this to my switch. I still use the original joycons as the hall sense ones idk how to put it..they're less sensitive. in games like racing games the steering is just like using a dpad and first person games when I want to slowly look around I cant as it just goes in the direction way too fast

Hey, your dead zone is too small I would say. I don't play racing games often but this is a thing I noticed with these types of sticks. You have to increase the dead zone for racing games

Hey, will the original Retroid joystick caps fit on the Gulikit sticks?
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
I don’t remember if they were designed to come off, and I’m not sure if I tried to yank them off. I will check and let you know. Edit: Okay, after testing, the original caps do not come off no matter how hard I tried. So, unfortunately, no.
@x7slim8x Жыл бұрын
@@muzzworksYeah the plastic "cap" doesn't come off the stick, it is all one piece. However the rubber cap does come off the cap attached to the stick if that makes sense. It is notched and is quite difficult the first time you remove it. I read somewhere they might be factory glued but they didn't feel like they were glued to me, just tightly pressed into the plastic cap via the notches I mentioned. I replaced mine with some thicker silicone caps intended for the PS Vita as I find the stock and hall Retroid sticks next to impossible to use for anything requiring any semblance of precision like FPS games because they are way too short for me. This is more than likely to increase the "flushness" for pocketability. Damn shame because I really like the 3+ for the most part.

I have the rg405m and the hall stick appears to have an outer dead zone. It basically maxes out early at about 80% of travel. Makes it really annoying and sensitive for games that use the joysticks full motion. I'm curious if you experience the same with these hall sticks as I'm tempted to change mine to either regular switch style sticks or gilikit if they're better. But from my understanding all hall sticks suffer from this. Could you test if you experience the same issues with the Gamepad tester from the app store? Its easy to identify the issue with that app and using the joystick dead zones tester by moving the stick slowly to the edge and seeing if it reaches the edge early.
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
I just tested using Gamepad Tester, and this issue isn’t present with the Gilikit joysticks on the RP3. I think it’s worth a try to see if it helps you.

@@muzzworks In the game pad tester are you getting reading that are stuck close to the x and y axis? ive seen that the diagonals on these is kind of weird. makes the stick feel more like an 8 way arcade switch. any word on if the hall improves the smoothness in gamepad tester?
@muzzworks Жыл бұрын
@@EdwardPruner Yes, I have noticed that the analogue sticks are biased towards the cardinal directions. This was also the case with the stock sticks that came with the device. I suspect it might be something intentionally programmed by Retroid. Just my guess.
