The Alien has those as keywords I think. If you got rid of keywords it would literally be target enemy/hero sides with NO effects.

Or if you somehow kept keywords while replacing the attack side, you probably could have a damage side that ALSO has Damage keyword, doubling the damage ect.

I checked your theory on Custom mode You are right, a damage side with Damage keyword deals double damage, and Alien's sides without keywords do nothing

10:10 funny synergy with bramble and disciple is that if you double-use you get to only use ONE heal BUT because its now a blank so using glow actually works on the second blank side

15:52 I thiiiink stuff like that might interact with some items that change keywords or buff "colored numbers" (there's an item I ran into just the other day that said something like "any colored N is increased by 1"

also you can do some weird stuff if you can swap the side and keep the keyword (with enduring) you can have a 3 damage side with the damage keyword, dealing 6 damage (dream is an alien with urn and charged hammer for base 20 heavy with 2xcharged)

yeah, there are items and such that mess with keywords that would benefit from sides like the aliens. keeping/changing keywords on sides

I'll add that the damage keyword is pretty good if you have somebody else with copycat on a damage side. This gives basically double damage with no other precondition, and it's godlike if you manage to get e.g. bloodlust on the alien side first

One part possible weird item interactions/one part flavor suggesting the alien is using a laser that does various things (supported by the damage face animation)

With random items you can get the "damage" keyword and add it to anything, so a sword is pure damage alien targets and does the keyword. You can combo both doing doble damage

I feel like the spade is underrated for a suicide build. The big pain mana-gain sides can be used and then you just revive and actually get a heal out of it. Or use the powerful “death” sides and then bring them back consequence free.

Wouldn't the Bloodlust 4 pip attack count double for the random generated ability that deals 7 ranged damage? It has 4 pips and a keyword + the green guy wouldn't kill himself.

You can see it being used this way at 43:30. The guy just straight up had a 7 damage side that other heroes benefitted from, essentially :D It's the same deal as when Prince uses his shield+heal side for two requirements on Unite.

Spade is just a interesting first character, it basically means you can just let 1 ally die every turn, only downside is they won't roll if they die on the enemy turn

Yeah seems like some interesting synergies especially starting with so much self damage. He just treated it like a statue though.

Multiple people starting at half hp for the next fight is a good way to make sure allies keep dying, probably more than 1 per turn. Unless your group is specifically set up for this (which is not common while having level 1 hero like Spade), that's kind of a downside too.

With Spade and cultist you have a funny combo, just let the cultist kill itself with the pain mana and revive it directly, you get the mana and a fully healed cultist

Being revived still leads to the unit being at half health in the next fight, so it's not usually worth it to use revive in non-emergencies.

I think the trick with the Myco is he'd pair well with someone who has cleave.his spell has some potential synergy for a turn 1 burst damage Team

You can always use Spore on a decay Mana side from Myco to compensate and have neutral results with no downsides.

Something seems to be up with the Dabbler/Dabblest unlocks, I did a bunch of Choose-Party runs with all rogues and not a single one showed up even with like +10 levelup choices. Eventually just did it in Wish mode but. When will my Dabblers return from the war.

Nope, they were immune to spells in 2 as well. Maybe not 2.0? But definitely at least the last major release before 3.0
