Whilst I admire the standard of work and attention to detail on each and every project, most astonishing is the continued, seamless onward progress of both the business and the cars. There must be some unseen heroes in the background, constantly juggling balls to maintain the flow. Mind blowing.

16:26 I had a bit of a PTSD moment when I saw that rustproofing gun 😂 As an apprentice motor mechanic in the 80s, in Queensland Australia where we have high humidity and live near the coast, we used to sell rust proofing as an option for new cars leaving our Ford dealership. It did work well if applied properly, but oh my God... The mess, the fumes and worst of all the Sata gun blocking the tip and erupting all over the operator (Me!) Washing in kero and then car wash detergent to get rid of wax/oil out of hair and skin is not a great day at work! 🤣

Superb as always. One thing nagging me, has the owner not considered having an internal rear window on the Interceptor? A bonded inner would add stiffness, isolate the troublesome tailgate. Lots of work but a win win?

He wants it to look quite standard. An extra window between the back seats and tailgate wouldn’t really fit with that. It’d probably be hard to see through two layers of glass at different angles too.

As someone who has been in the car/motorcycle/HGV trade from the 1970's onwards, from mechanic to dealership owner ... I never had a problem with BL: Allegro, Marina, the Wedge and so forth. In 1980 my friend's father bought a bright Yellow, black vinyl roof Allegro 1750 Sport, a Mk III ... A great car and extremely quick. The masses make me laugh, I've spent years in auctions buying great quality low mileage Saab, Alfa, Fiat, Volvo 240/5 and yes even Lada Riva & Samara ... For peanuts. Meanwhile the proles were fighting over 8-10 yr old rot box Fords for more money than I was paying for one owner, low miles, FSH cars ... It's quite bizarre.

The Jensen boot lid - in retrospect - would it have been better to make it out of composite? Strong and light and all that?
@gdmonks1959Ай бұрын
It’s the glass that’s heavy
@ole-martinlundefaret5876Ай бұрын
@@gdmonks1959 That I understand, but the metal is too soft, so it bens under the weight of the glass, and the tension of the gasket/seilings etc. It also bends because of the weight of the glass and the placing of the hinges. A compsite solution would handle the weight of the glass and keep its stiffnes/structure/form even when meeting the seals etc :) Retropower do a teriffic job so this is no critique, I just came to think of the carbon Jensen and the possibility of doing the same treatment here :)

Combination of a lens that needs cleaning (causes flare and washed out colors), and maybe they cropped in so that effectively reduces the resolution?

I guess that's all down to the guys who are shelling out the cash to build "something completely different". In the motorcycle world we used to say "Hondas are like bums, everybody has one".
@MrNatbattenАй бұрын
@@gazzafloss Honda Integra Type R UK were an absolute masterpiece and I would argue a historically important car of which not many were made, only 500 came to the UK in a very specific specification, wafer thin bits everywhere, light as a rizla paper, so no, not like bums as not everyone has one. I drove one in the late 90's and was utterly amazed at it, nearest thing to a racing car I had driven on the road up to then, I used to work in one of the most respected classic car restoration workshops in London and then as a freelance mech, I got to drive all kinds of exotic stuff back then, some stuff worth millions even back then, I wasn't a fan of front wheel drive but the Integra was something like a BTCC car. An Allegro will always be an Allegro, this to me is just proof there are lots of folk with more money than sense, if I was that daft, I would get a repro MKII Escort floorpan from MST in Wales, shove in GP4 running gear, a Samsonas sequential box and a 2.5 or even 2.7 Millington Diamond II+ motor in it and have a proper monster with rwd ans somewhere around 350 bhp, no destruction of something else required. I can see someone is spending huge amounts of money on this, it just amounts to polishing a turd for me, and I usually love what these guys do, but in this case, ugh, no, my eyes and brain are bleeding, bleurgh.
