Thanks for watching! I'm finally in and looking forward to new adventures in my new studio. Looking for recommendations and advice from anyone who had untaken a similar task such as kitting out a new space for this purpose.

Im currently in the middle of refurbing my garage, to get some insulation, and mainly get a better studio area. looks like we are doing the same ideas here, best of luck.

A bit of work ahead in the conversion of the new space. But it really makes a difference to finally have a place you can set up and use for a single purpose. I'm sure you'll have many a plesent hour wiling away in front of that large TV playing a good old Commodore or Amstrad title while sinking confortably into that old leather sofa (after your filming for the day is done of course). I wish you luck with it ;)

Thanks! The beauty of it is that the space is useable so any improvements can be done gradually. Must get the electrics sorted first though.

I quite like the worn patina of that floor.
@RetroRecollections3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the floor is solid, I like the idea of those tiles though :)

Looks like a fun project ahead. I would seriously consider kingspan on the walls, floor and maybe even take down that ceiling and insulate the roof. If it were me, I'd also out up a stud wall between the garage door support and your area, also insulated, with a door in it. Then you would have a cosy room even in winter and cool in the summer. For the garage door seal, there's a good video on 8t by another youtuber call new Brit workshop

Thanks for the tips. I am tempted to put in a stud wall at some point for those very reasons. I can't do anything with the ceiling as there is a flat above the garage, so no roof to insulate. I will be getting some quotes and some options soon regarding the walls. I like the idea of just painting the breeze blocks and maybe trunking the electrics, leaving a more industrial look but sealing up all the holes etc. I'll check out that channel regarding the garage door cheers.

With regards to the powerline, you can also get powerline adaptors that have a socket passthrough so the electric socket is still useable

Typical UK garage, you can store everything apart from the car :D
