You forgot the BMW GS 1250...various recalls, problems with transmission/shaftdrive, camshaft wear, engine corrosion....

Many of my bikes over the last 4 decades have gone well beyond that distance. It helps to buy a reliable brand - both Yamaha and BMW seem to go the distance easily.

A lot of people do. I've got 30k on my 4 year old Harley that I bought new. There are thousands of Harleys that have sold on ebay having 60k+ miles on them.
