The logo majlis keselamatan jalan raya used to be back in the past until 2006. Then after early 2006, it rebranded to JKJR (Jabatan keselamatan jalan raya) and the psa jalan raya ads make me scared as a kid

Yes. Someone else mentioned that the 1990s PSAs were less scary already, and I agree. The 1980s PSAs were terribly scary. I still feel a bit afraid to watch now :)

0:07 - Slaid ucapan Hari Raya Aidilfitri daripada RTM TV2 pada 1994 dengan lagu "Bersabarlah Sayang" nyanyian asal Sanisah Huri secara instrumental. Lagu tersebut adalah antara lagu Hari Raya klasik yang sentiasa menjadi pilihan sehingga kini, tidak seperti lagu-lagu Hari Raya yang terbaru. Pada tahun 1994, logo TV2 telahpun bertukar kepada warna keemasan serentak dengan logo TV1 yang pada mulanya menggunakan warna biru untuk sementara sebelum digantikan dengan warna perak/metalik. Wajah baru logo TV1 dan TV2 yang masing-masing berwarna sama hanya mula digunakan pada 1996, beberapa minggu selepas ulang tahun ke-50 RTM dan ia digunakan sehingga Ogos 2004. 0:29 - Pesanan khidmat masyarakat (PSA) yang meminta pengguna jalan raya agar tidak gelojoh di jalan raya. Kegelojohan dan kecuaian semasa memandu membawa tragedi jalan raya.

- The presentation of safe driving PSA is not too scary but it actually gives awareness to the public. - Apart from exceeding passenger limits on small vehicles , failure to fasten a seatbelt behind is lethal too. If a vehicle collided , the impact can REALLY HARM the passenger in front and the drivers (still , many ppl don't fasten it at the behind seat) - For toll-free expressways like the East-West Expressway , the max speed limit is remain 90 km/h if I'm not mistaken. The max speed limit of PLUS Expressways is 110 km/h as majority of the road are straight and don't have too banked turns (Ipoh excluded , the speed limit are also reduced to not more than 90 km/h) - The maximum speed limit of public roads has increased to 90km/h - Majlis Keselamatan Jalan Raya has renamed to Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya in 2006 till now. - Do upload the MKJR PSA because I need it for reference (pls make the watermark smaller also). Plus , don't forget to upload Hari Raya ads if possible next Saturday Btw , Selamat Hari Raya to all!

Thanks for your comment- I agree that 1990s PSAs weren't too scary, but they got the message across anyway. I do feel that the 1980s PSAs were very scary (some dadah ones were really frightening). Thanks for the speed limit info - very interesting. As always, I need to check my collection for that video you mentioned. Selamat Hari Raya!

In my opinion, the road safety PSAs in the past is much better than the present day road safety PSAs. So does with other PSAs (even some of them were the scariest ones but full with lessons) during Mahathir Mohamad's era as the 4th Prime Minister, much more better than the present day PSAs.

Another comment: I'm assuming that Khairil Rashid (who in my childhood was a radio deejay) is the announcer at the end, although nowadays I can't recall what his voice sounds like when I last hear him back then. Programme slides with channel logos seems to only start later in 1994.

It seems that the greetings slide seen here was briefly seen in your Sesame Street end credit video. So it seems that by this time TV1 and TV2 have different greeting slides, but TV2 would not get its own news programmes by the end of the year. I don't think we say "selamat menyambut" anymore... The PSA seems to be filmed at a road surrounded by a dam. Another similar PSA on drink and drive from 1993 was uploaded many years ago, but did not have the JKJR logo at the end. Another male announcer I guess? Unlike the slide in your Gerbert video, this one has the logo of the show, just like many other programme slides in the era. I don't watch sitcoms, but PWCL is probably not the first sitcom that did not have a laughing track. PWCL is an adaptation of the earlier movie. I first knew Parker Lewis in a promo for the original movie airing on Australian TV. TV2 only started Friday to Sunday morning and afternoon broadcasts in January 1992.

Actually, Sesame Street was on TV1. I switched channels to TV2 to capture the PLCL theme. I'm not sure which US sitcom was the first to ditch the laugh track, but it's definitely true that PLCL was one of the earlier ones to do so. Dream On was another example. It's interesting that the producers of Dream On would go on to do Friends, which DID have a laugh track.
