@@elluciano5808 The Menu screen of the Game Gear Is the same of the SNES version and the puzzle mode backgrounds are taken by the SNES version.

Wow, Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic had more ports than I thought! I never expected to see any versions after the 16-bit console versions and their handheld counterparts. The game it was based on, Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle, was itself originally an arcade game that was made a year before being ported to the Super Famicom. In case anyone was wondering, Pac-Panic is the game's European name. I still have a UK copy of the Sega Mega Drive version with that title. I'm a bit confused by this game's whole "Puzzle Mode music" situation, if I'm honest. The Sega Game Gear version's Puzzle Mode has the same tune as that of the Super Nintendo version, which I find interesting due to Nintendo and Sega's rivalry at the time, though it could be explained by the developers making both the Game Gear and Game Boy versions at the same time and simply carrying the tune over, and for reasons unknown, the Game Boy Advance version's Puzzle Mode doesn't have its music from either the SNES or Mega Drive version, despite the game being based on the latter. Speaking of which, the fact that the GBA and the PlayStation's Classic versions are based on the Mega Drive version doesn't really make sense from a technological standpoint, considering nearly all GBA remakes were of SNES games and you'd think the PlayStation's Classic version would have the same assets as the technologically superior SNES version.

Interesting how, if it hadn't been for the port on Pac-Man World 2, the Namco Anthology version would've stayed a Japanese exclusive. I don't think it has the puzzle mode (or any other modes) available, which sucks a little, but it's better than remaining region-exclusive

Well, there WAS another PS2 release of Pac-Attack, on Namco Museum, as an unlockable after securing 25,000 points on the original Pac-Man, which is also in that collection.

Funnily enough, the game that Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic was based on, Cosmo Gang: The Puzzle, _was_ an arcade game before it got ported to the Super Famicom/SNES.

I noticed that in cosmic gang, when the ball hits whatever those things are, it plays the same noise that the enemies from dig dug arrangement make. Pretty interesting :3

I would avoid the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance versions of Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic because the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance versions of Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic do not have 2-player modes and the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance versions of Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic will not save your high scores, rankings and name entries.

When they released these GBA collection-type games, Namco used the smallest cheapest cartridges available, so they shortened songs, and even removed tracks like the puzzle mode song to save space. They didn’t have any saving capabilities either!

The original SNES and Gensis/Mega Drive releases of Pac-Attack where English translations of Cosmo Gang. I find it interesting that Namco much like SEGA and Nintendo with Pyro Pyro did not think the series would work outside of the west without a existing IP (in this case Pac-Man) attached to it but instead of doing what Pyro Pyro did and bring Cosmo Gang outside of Japan they instead brought Pac-Attack into Japan

@@yousefslimani99 Yeah, I'm kinda shocked I didn't choose the Genesis version, considering how much of a huge fan I am of the Genesis. I think it's the music that won me over on the SNES version. But yeah? Namco and the Game Gear felt like an unstoppable force. Shame they never ported Tower of Druage or Dig Dug to it. Those would have been great on Game Gear, especially with the New Dig Dug mode!

@@yousefslimani99 Yeah! I'm worried that Popful Mail won't appear on the western Genesis Mini 2. For me, seeing Popful Mail was a HUGE selling point. As a huge fan of the Monster World series, Popful Mail is a game I GREATLY wanna try, but cannot afford. I wish I had gotten it back in late high school, around 2011-2012, back when a cart of Mega Man X3 was like $100.

Both versions got ported three times each. The music gives it away, as does the layout of Stage 1 in Puzzle Mode. The Wii Virtual Console and _Pac-Man Museum +_ also got the Super NES version.
