1960's Boston MA Slades Family Home Movies Found Footage 8mm Film Christmas, Campground Vacation

The beginning of the film which includes the church, and Slades is filmed in the South End section of Boston, MA. Having grown up in this part of Boston, and in this era, I would recognize it anywhere. And the seaside dock scenes at the end appear to be Martha's Vineyard, a popular vacation spot for people of color. This was indeed nostalgic. Thank you for sharing the footages.

At 5:07 look at the women's Sunday hats. They used to call them 'crowns of glory'. And at 7:11 see the sign for Slades Bar B Q. Was this the family business?? If so it STILL seems to be a business since 1938 on Tremont St. You can google it! I wonder if someone should tell them about this footage.

We need to see more positive things about African Americans. Home movies about our happy life in America because as Langston Hughes I too sing America. After all it is our home too.
