When Disney was still fun and exciting. It makes me sad to look back sometimes. Thank you so much for posting this.

I miss the days of crusty old Regis Philbin getting excited about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Those were exciting times.Disney’s so boring now with their 23 MCU movies, Disney +, Multiple theme park expansions, cruise lines, revitalization of Star Wars, dozens of awesome movies from Disney and Pixar. Bring back those 90’s franchises! I want to see A sequel to Blank Check, and Rookie of the Year.

I wish I saw these ads and parade on Tv in person in 1994 as well as the parade at WDW in person! So much more to love here!

I preferred the one they aired in the afternoon from Disneyland... you know, the Wester Parade.

My first visit to Disney World was August 1993, my second visit to Disney World was Easter 1995. Am still a Johnson's Baby. This was a great look back. Look forward to getting back someday. 👍💕

When did they stop doing the Easter parade? I'm 42 and I still watch the Christmas parade faithfully
@UmmYeahOk3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, probably 2020. They used to televise both Christmas and Easter parade all the time in the 90s, as it essentially was a giant commercial to visit the parks. Crowds then weren’t as insane as they are now. I remember at one point in the late 90s they stopped airing the Easter parade, but I did catch it on ether Telemundo or Univision. Thought that was odd. But then the following year it wasn’t on any of the channels.

The final televised Walt Disney World Happy Easter Parade was on April 4, 1999. The Christmas Parade has been televised in every year since 1983, except in 2000, when Disney's Twas the Night Before Christmas aired on Christmas Eve. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no Christmas parades at Disneyland or at Walt Disney World, so the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration aired. I think Eisner thought Roger Rabbit was going to convert Warner Brothers fans into Disney fans which is why they kept putting him in ever special around this time.
@UmmYeahOk3 жыл бұрын
If only Disney had its own rabbit. One that predated Bugs Bunny. One that was essentially Mickey Mouse in every way, just with long ears. 😏
@marxmith3 жыл бұрын
@@UmmYeahOk They tried that. The Main Street Tar Baby parade was a big black eye for the company... literally. Brer Rabbit punching children in the face along Main Street and the Tar-ette dancers spreading the joy of tar and feathers was not well received.

@@marxmith I was referencing Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but imagining such a parade was an absolute delight. Thank you. 😆 Eisner sure loved experimenting with various obscure properties.

@@UmmYeahOk Lee Harvey Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a terrible character and the parade past the hall of presidents was just distasteful. But I did like when Aladdin and Abu stole Jacks Ruby from the cave of wonders.

Back in the 90’s Nirvana had to manufacture angst, because we didn’t have real problems.
@UmmYeahOk3 жыл бұрын
We had plenty to be angsty about. It’s just that what we considered issues then are laughable today in comparison. It’s all about perception.

@@UmmYeahOk I guess you’re right. I remember that year I had a tough time deciding between a CD player with 4x oversampling and one with 8x oversampling. Also, I had to save up for a month to buy Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis, and I was disappointed by the gameplay. Is it was a pretty rough year.
@UmmYeahOk3 жыл бұрын
@@marxmith I was a spoiled child, but still plenty of angst. I got both the Sega Genesis and JP game, as well as a Sony Discman for Christmas. Gifts I didn’t even ask for. We were allowed to bring portable music devices to class, and all the punk kids wanted to test out the skip prevention feature. Turns out, if you shake my desk for 5-10 seconds the song would indeed skip. At least they didn’t break the player and/or CD. Why they couldn’t stay seated and do their work, Ill never know, but it was always somehow my fault.
