Ngl seeing how Ranni orchestrated the night of black knives, I was so scared Ranni herself set up the killings of Blaidd and Iji now that she doesn't need them anymore, in a "tieing up loose ends" kind of way. I guess Marika being connected to the Numen, which make up the black knife assassins, is a real double-edged sword like that: On one hand, it gives us an out on the possibility that Ranni killed the welsh avengers, but on the other hand it also suggests Marika might have been implicated in the killing of her own firstborns' soul.
