Retsu wasn’t even buffed. Its just that he wasn’t prepared or as smart as Baki when he faced Pickle. And losing his leg left him handicapped when he faced Miyamoto. The main cast of Baki are insanely powerful. Put them in Game of Thrones and they each would be like Yujiro is to the world.

It is a side story showcasing Retsu's ability in the afterlife. Not sure if this is going to be canon though 💯
