We had a flight booked from izmir to Manchester one way on Saturday booked in June. On the 25th July they emailed to say it was cancelled and we were offered a flight on the 8th, we said no and they then offered the 13th which still wasn't good for us. They said we could fly via Antalya on the 11th at 7.20am, we said yes and so we stayed at the Hilton next to the airport. When we got to the gate the flight was delayed 30 mins which ment we'd miss our connection in Antalya. This was with Sun Express. There were 15 people with connections and there was staff in Antalya soon as we departed to take us to International terminal and threw passport control and security so we could get our flight which was delayed for us. It was stressful but can't fault the process. Thank goodness we are now home although very tired. Sorry to hear your misfortune with easyjet.

Happened to us 2 years ago also with Easyjet! We actually got on the tarmac, metres away from the plane, crammed in the airport bus. The captain of the plane finally came to tell us he couldn't take us as he was short of crew, and he had to fly back to Gatwick EMPTY due to regulations. We were taken back to baggage reclaim and left wondering what the hell was going on! No EJ staff to be seen. No updates apart from through the app, and we had no data, a nightmare! We got trundled off to a hotel in Dalyan, too. Thankfully there was one member of staff who spoke fluent English as no others did, and my Turkish is limited to basics. We had been awake for almost 24 hrs at this point. We had to rebook our own flights as we'd booked the package holiday through On The Beach. We finally made it home and the first thing I did was make a claim with Easyjet, which they eventually paid! Awful experience 😵💫

There is something weird going on with travel for more than a month now. My sister had return flights Turkish Airlines CPT-IST-JFK with 4.5+5.5+2+2 hours delays. My daughter had flight cancelled (Westjet strike) then bumped off new flight (United). My friend had a booking with Lufthansa, at check-in was told the flight was not paid, then rescheduled and nearly bumped off that flight. As well, we had incidents with taxis, hotels, roads and baggage. Your experience more proof of this tendency. Stay safe, stay home!😊

We are recent converts to holidaying in Turkey ( Mick & Trudy were instrumental in this ) and really kicking ourselves we never went there years ago. We love it there. Hey guys! Good luck with your flight I’ve got a question. Currently I’m at Fethiye. Something very much weird got my attention. There’s no single British in here. A gossip is being talked among Turks that The British government called all the Brits to UK It sounds so cloudy. Did you move back home too? I’m a Turkish person who lives at the capital. Whatever the reason behind this I’m happy because now foreigners being away from here makes the shopkeepers here very much needy to us, Turks. They didn’t use to be nice to domestic tourists as they did with foreigners. Now with empty stores they greet us with smiling and desperate faces. Well, I guess it’s karma shit Note: I’m not even talking about super expensive goods, food and accommodation. Now vacant hotels, rental houses, empty restaurants and stores, they are, unfortunately, paying back underestimating us as domestic tourists. The only thing they have left is “gurbetçiler”.
@mickandtrudie4 ай бұрын
No, we’ve not moved back. We’re just visiting family, but there has been a move by expats to go back to the UK because the residency has become more difficult for foreigners all foreigners not just Brits, and prices have all gone up as you know, similar prices in the UK now 🤠

İf only it was that simple, which it is not. Flying generally has become much more chaotic and unpredictable and unpleasant - especially since the COVID panic. Re Turkish Airlines. From my experience they are not better. Yesterday I had a flight booked with Turkish from Istanbul to Dalaman. I checked in 90 Minutes before scheduled departure, to find I was on standby. When I arrived at the departure gate there were 10-12 people on standby. İn other words, Turkish Airlines sold 10-12 more tickets for this flight than available seats. This is clearly ridiculous. Myself and one other lucky passenger on standby got a seat, the remainder were stranded in Istanbul until.... Case two. My flight previous flight with Turkish in May from Australia to Istanbul to Dalaman was equally poorly organised. I won't list all the problems here, except to say we were told there was a scheduled 50min stop over in Singapore. All passengers - some hundreds - had to get off the plane, line up, go through Singapore security screening and passport check, then held in a large glass holding pen with no toilets. The flight departed over 2 hours late, the pilot made no attempt to make up for the late departure (as most airlines do try to make up time after late departures on long haul international flights) so we arrived over 2 hours late in Istanbul and I missed the connecting flight. I was annoyed since I consider it dishonest to have a scheduled stopover of 50 min that was clearly going to be much, much longer. So from my experience Turkish Airlines is not better than other airlines, unfortunately.
@keithhardy85134 ай бұрын
@@stevegulseren1078 That's true ! Their ridiculously low fares are usually misleading and by the time all the "add ons" are included often there is little difference to a "full fare" scheduled air-line ticket ! 👍🤣

@@sjr8449 Unfortunately, ALL airlines sell MORE tickets than there are seats in the anticipation that some passengers do not show up, hence the importance of checking in early for the flight.
