You have a PIPE bender (aka the kinker) + you are using TUBING = the different size materials are incompatible. TUBE is measured in outside diameter while PIPE is measured inside diameter. If you go thicker wall TUBING or you use PIPE you will get better results.

Throw some sand into the pipes and tape up the ends and try bending again. The sand will help with the kinking of the pipe, gives it a bit more structural rigidity. Keep the builds coming dude!!

Ask from local Toyota dealer how to change the plugs to the Previa, it can´t require removing the whole engine, that doesn´t make sense. Also put some lenses to the headlights. I like the Previa videos.

Hi Ging, I have some tips for using a pipe bender like that. I saw someone try out using a die that was a bit too narrow for the pipe, so the pipe would actually sit on the edges of the die. He had great succes trying that. Another tip I heard is packing the tube full of sand to keep it from compressing.

Hey buddy, I know it's a tad bit troublesome but you can pack sand in your tubes, after which add water to make it dense before bending them, prevents crimps and wrinkles. Another easier solution that isn't too troublesome is a flexible rod made of lead/tin/copper/soder etc. Even a bunch of wire shoved in to fill the space makes the finish significantly better. that bender is made for thick pipe. i use mine mainly for 1.5" od .120 dom and works pretty ok. Also your welds look really good for just gettin a mig.

If that bender kinks the tubing, pack the tubing with sandblasting sand (finer the better) and tape both ends (pack it tight) then bend the pipe. The sand will prevent the kinking and you just drain the sand out afterwards.

Looks like you need to turn up your power on your welder, it looks like it's stacking the metal. If you tape the ends of the pipe after filling it with sand it will help stop the pipe from crushing in on itself.

The panel under the passenger seat gives you access to the spark plugs and fuel system. It's a practical toyota van. I don't think they would have engineered basic maintenance to be an engine-out service.

I thought of a silly idea to remove or reduce the front wheels rubbing by extending the lower control arms. Did a quick youtube search and came up with a couple of videos on how they did it. This would allow you to move the ball joint further out from the car and allow you get greater clearance from the arch, or even reduce the width of the spacers. Or another idea, if feasible, would be to mount the front wishbone mounts further forward of the car. maybe an inch or 2. but that would allow you to cut more of the unused front of the MudPanda and would move it away from the interior obstructions (foot well).

You don’t have to remove engine for plugs, you take off passenger seat and floor panels beneath the you can see plug leads and access the spark plugs, just did it last month in a 91 previa although maybe it’s different on a manual previa Also love seeing previa vids

Use the next size smaller die on the pipe bender you won't get as many dents. Make it so the pipe sits on the edges of the die. Try it and you won't regret it

When using the bender use a die that is smaller than the tube and it will bend cleaner if you didn't know already.

I feel like the Mudpanda could be exciting but you should double down on it... and rip out the interior, and use this also as practice for repairing a rusty body.. Also you welds are looking really good. I'm really surprised how fast you are progressing. I would think you should get a tube notcher next and learn to weld tubing to itself in cage patterns. :-) And build a table while your at it!

A bit late, but there is a second access point under the passenger seat (and carpet) where you can get to the rest of the engine. From there it should be easy enough to get at and replace the spark plugs. This car would probably run a lot better with plugs and a service, shame the rest is so rusty though.

Gingium, you should really fix the rubbing on full lock. Since it doesn't matter if the van gets ruined or not, just half-ass the door so it's driveable. Maybe even make some of those jeep doors thatr are just a bunch of pipes.Oh, and the rear sliding door could become like the side door of an old VW Bus, so it (they?) can open and the back can be actually used.(rant/)

For the light flickering with the shop lights: Apparently these two video modes (PAL, NTSC) are for countering that, you have to set it to the mode that takes frames in the same interval as the "blinking" of the lights. Just test that, I didn't try it out myself haha
