In an earlier video, I talked about a legendary and abundant BLUE FISH that suddenly went missing from the Great Lakes. But then - a fish matching that description started being caught in smaller lakes although the legendary BLUE FISH was said to be extinct. What was happening? I made some speculations and then gathered evidence from hundreds of fishermen and some fisheries scientists. This video is an update on this unfolding mystery.
CALIPER - I mentioned that it would be handy to take a caliper fishing with you and I briefly showed one in the video. They are really helpful for measuring small things like eye diameters. You can get them at local hardware stores or Amazon for $8 to $10 and you will find many uses for it once you have one.
A FORM TO TAKE FISHING - I will attach a form here with some questions all typed up. It would be a good idea to print one and keep it in your tackle box for when you catch your next BLUE FISH. Take a photo of your fish!

NOTE - When I was describing the length of a Blue Walleye's muzzle as being about the width of one of its eyes, I was working from Dr. Schaefer's fish diagrams. If you have an inexpensive plastic caliper with you, you won't have to rely on any such approximations. You can just take a careful measurement and jot it down on "the form to take fishing".
