I never thought I'd ever see this band play live. I was stunned & amazed the whole night. My jaw is still somewhere at the venue. Worth every penny I paid & I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Chick, Stanley, Al, & Lenny for reuniting.

I've got 21 row center for July 31 @ the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Florida! I've been listening to these guys since about 1982 and let me just say, I am incredibly psyched. In the current state of the music industry, this is clearly the best thing I can imagine.

I just caught the show last night here in SLC, Utah. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. GO GO GO to this show if you truly appreciate music and musicians. Stanley stole the show here. There are only three letters to truly describe his solo instrumental. WOW!!! But they were all incredible.

RTF was incredible, Chick, Stanley, Al and Lenny were so insync and so clean but with so much soul. Probably the best musical performance I have ever seen. The sound at the 6/13 Universal Ampitheater Show was spectacular. What an incredible night of music and pristine sound. Great job of house mixing.

monster: Absolutely agree with you, a totally memorable gig. I was seated upstairs in the centre with a fantastic view of the stage. The sound was excellent. Very nice that it was Al's 54th Birthday as well (kudos to the guy who gave him the personalised football shirt - well done!) And as for their musicianship... simply unsurpassable. Damn, these guys are just brilliant at what they do! Best gig I've ever been to, and I've been to thousands! Really hope they make it back to London next year.

Definitely the most most memorable gig i have ever seen (UK 21st July).. There really is so much to say but in short, i have waited over 20 years to see this reunion and the experience is something that will always remain with me. It was a piece of living history.

this was alot of fun to shoot. that guitar was paul reed smiths personal guitar that he gave to al, more excitingly he gave me the guitar pick! and showed me his 59 les paul that he painted black. he said it lowered the value immensely but he didnt care. what a day...

I saw RTF and The Guitar Trio back in 1983. I already have my tickets for Houston (3rd Row!) and will soon have Austin and Dallas tickets. 4 days and 800 miles later, I'm going to be one tired, happy puppy! Now if we could just get The Guitar Trio to do another tour :)

I saw the first gig this band did at the Joint in the Woods in Parsippany NJ. I was fortunate to meet Chick. The first tune was The return to the Hymm of the 7th Galaxy. The album had been released that day.!!!!!My favortite band!!!

To all the naysayers about this band reuniting, I say see the show. This is not just hype, this is about the art of music. Fantastic, I say! I was at the Seattle show June 8 and I am still reeling. Sure there were some glitches, but what the hell, they started with less than 10 rehearsals. This music is very complex and not easy for ANYONE to perform. As for one young upstart bassist from France who said Stanley hasn't improved in 30 years, keep practicing, keep practicing, keep practicing

In addition to my previous comments, I would like to add that, yes, at Seattle, too, the sound was not good but did improve as the show progressed. I have heard many groups struggle and even sound better in that building. I really think, and hopefully the sound tech,s will see this, TURN UP THE VOLUME! Louder would be better! Fill the room with sound and eliminate the dead spots!

I've just listened to the Austin show - the first of the tour. I know there's no comparison between a tape and a real live experience, so I try to be indulgent, BUT.... I'm surprised by the high amount of "mistakes" in the written parts, especially by Chick himself!! Like they didn't rehearse enough...On the other hand, I find Al better than I expected. I'm sure the tunes will be played more and more correctly night after night, so I won't disturb anymore the ambiant nostalgic fanatism ;-)

@guitarran I have a PRS now. Very precise guitar but I can get only one sound with it. I hear some guys playing PRS & get all kinds of sounds. I like the old LPs, but there are so heavy & expensive. I find myself always drifting back to Teles & Strats.

Saw the show last night in Vancouver. Chick was spot on but they all had a few Homer moments. Al started off really weak but by the end of the night they were cooking with fire. Played three twenty minute encores. Seriously. As far as musicianship is concerned they were untouchable. Stanly Clarke did do a major boo boo during Dual of the J and T but they all carried on and giggled a bit. Very good show. Totally laid back. Even had some cool audience participation. Tough to keep up though.lol.

Im going to see them in Philly because I never got to see them when I was younger but I agree with you that they should be recording new material. I think the problem is that real jazz/rock/progressive/fusion has been dead for years and the ones still carrying the flag aren't exactly pulling in the big bucks unless they tour constantly and these guys already have their own solo bands and Stanley ain't giving up his lucrative soundtrack work to sleep in different hotels every night.

Yes, the Indigo2 venue is excellent in every respect and i much prefer it to the Festival Hall and similar. My mate went to see Chaka Khan last night which was supposed to be equally amazing. Ha ha.... it was so bizarre when Chick came on and started vamping 'Happy Birthday' as a Samba !! Then when the audience sung it back everyone was out of phase and in different keys and Stanley Clarke was trying to accompany us all !! But somehow he and Chick finished on a mutually agreed 'tonic' !!
