Return To Tehachapi Loop - Patched SP Unit, Derailments, and More! (2013)

It has been a long 2 years since I had been to Tehachapi, so I planned another 4 day trip up there to see some trains, and boy did we see some trains. It was a crazy 4 day trip I can tell you that. The day we were driving up, a Union Pacific manifest derailed at Cable Crossover which stopped ALL traffic heading East and Westbound through Tehachapi and some BNSF and UP trains detoured over the Coast Sub. The derailment happened at 1am and traffic was moving at 4:53pm.
In this video you will see BNSF, Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Norfolk Southern, CSX, Southern Pacific, KCS, etc. We went to some new locations like Cliff, Cable, Summit, Kern Jct. and also got some shots a different areas around Caliente, Bealeville, Mojave, and more! That’s actually a normal thing for a crossing to do depending how far the opposing traveling train is from the crossing. The crossing gates went back down bc the detection for the crossing was triggered while the gates were coming up, causing it to go back down.
