I stumbled upon Minecraft from this youtube channel called Dadsrfunny back in 2011 had Minecraft videos in my recommended and always thought it looked dumb until I finally clicked on it finding the game interesting enough to ask to get the game by Christmas. Never got to experience the beta or alpha but I personally felt like up until the end of 1.6 the terrain was fun to explore. Nowadays with 1.7 onwards they just play it so safe with the generation. Amplified sorta brings back the old generation but I always found the wackiness in the terrain what brought me into this game but nowadays everything feels the same even though the content inside this game is fantastic. I wish to have the old terrain alongside what we have in the latest version of the game. I hope that 1.18 brings back the old vibes as I feel exploring isn't as fun as it once was tbh.

The only Machinimas I can remember were movies, one was simply called "The Minecraftian", I believe, while the other was Herobrine. Was legit scary to me back then XD My first memory of Minecraft is my friend excitedly showing it to me and showing me how to download it on Megaupload at the time, before it got taken down. Think it was minecraft 1.5 beta or something. Couldn't read, or at least I didn't bother to read, as I played for quite a while on that cracked version, wondering why in the wiki it had trapdoors yet I didn't. Until I was like "what's this?" and clicked the "force update" button. Afterwards I was like "oooooh, so that's what it was!" xD It was like a new game, I think it was like 1.2.5 or something. I still remember me and my friend building this huuge wall and a tower in the middle, then wondering why mobs would spawn (we needed more torches lol). I also remember being on this server called Clutchcraft, with I think the owner being Stryker or something? Something like that. (this was a bout a year or two later, idk, when I had actually bought it.) Played Shotbow servers, watched Minecon, etc I think I eventually lost interest around the combat update, (slightly before that, actually) so not that long ago as one would think. Was a great time in my childhood, I say. Most of our friends played it, to the point the school had to block the website because it was starting to dissolve into bullying and the like. So my friends...just got a portable version of Minecraft that apparently connected somewhere else other than Minecraft.net. Was definitely interesting times xD Had to go from pc to pc because I don't think all of them had java or whatever-something needed to play Minecraft, some where slow, others weren't stuff like that. I also watched a lot of SkydoesMinecraft, tho I think he simply goes by SkydoesGaming now, and his channel kind tanked because of personal issues and other stuff, tho he seems to be doing better now.

My brother was sending me videos of Notch's test play videos. We loaded up the game together on the ancient and defunct free version of Minecraft which was multiplayer only. It was kind of crap but also different and amazing. We scaled a giant cave system together that was made using a world editor. It made me wonder what the full game was like, and so I bought it. So, didn't play it because someone else did, unless you count Notch. The golden age of Minecraft was just before full release, when the debug mode launched. It was a completely different experience to fly around, spawn stuff, cycle time and watch the days fly by.

For me the golden age of Minecraft was 1.7.10. This is mainly due to it being the most common version to use mods on, when I first learned how to install mods. I started playing the game around the time it came out. The old Alpha versions are so nostalgic, but my best Minecraft memories are in v1.7.10, it's the version I still use, and always will be my favorite version. The mods too are so nostalgic. To this day, when I play with Aether 2, Twighlight Forest, Rivel Rebels, or many of the other popular Minecraft Mods, I reminisce about being a kid, and coming home from school to watch DanTDM, SkyDoesMinecraft, Ssundee, and PopularMMOs. Kinda sad to see how all those channels ended up today. It's like seeing MTV going from music, to Teen Mom. Minecraft to me is how Popeye The Sailor Man, or Golden Eye 007 Nintendo 64 is to my parents.

Nostalgia aside, I'd say the "Golden Age" of Minecraft would be the first multiplayer versions, before you could die, before you could craft. Imagine 40+ players playing "the floors lava" - You had a limited map, where lava came from the ceiling and slowly filled the map top-first. You built your house, and tried to avoid the "hot" lava. If you touched it, you lost. The game was built entirely on trust, no one would stop you re-building your house. The map restarted when the map was filled.

First version I played was a pirated copy that was in alpha version 1.2.6. It had this weird launcher that I got from some horrid website, but the best part was at this time, Beta 1.8 came out and all the videos coming out about it were about the End and all that fun stuff. But my cracked launcher was stuck on 1.2.6 which meant that me bingeing Antvenom and Chimneyswift11's respective series was just a dreadful experience, cuz I didn't know why they had the funny food chicken nuggets and I didn't. Personal favorite version now is Beta 1.7.3 cuz now I feel that the majority of stuff added in beta 1.8 was more detrimental than it should have been. As well as that, Beta 1.7.3 had wicked mods, all the classics, you got your Aether, Clay Soldiers, Mo-Creatures, the god damn ZEPPELIN MOD, which is the peak of game mechanical engineering yet put into an interactive medium.

My biggest piece of nostalgia for Minecraft was the original Aether mod. What a fucking cool mod.

My brother got this cracked version of Minecraft in 2010/2011 and I played it on my old Windows 7 Acer Laptop and built a house with brick and made a massive wall surrounding the house so no Mobs would get in with my cousins and then I decided to release about 100 ocelots into the house because I was 8 and the version I had updated until the update before horses were introduced.

The first time I played Minecraft I built my house in a mountain and then figured out how to use a crafting table, and then I med a massive room of furnaces
