A few weeks ago, we reacted to a commonly suggested Japanese metal band, BAND-MAID. We knew nothing about BAND-MAID going into that video and after giving it a good watch, you guys made it clear we needed to see more. This time, we take a look at one of their live shows!
Please let us know in the comments what you would like to see us react to next!

If you two decide to do more Band-Maid, here are some songs. Warning (mv) off of their newest album, Unseen World 2021. Fast pace song After Life (mv) is a heavy mid temple song. Black Hole (audio version) also off of their newest album. It's their fastest song they have; it gets to 220bpm. Different (mv) fast pace song and an anime opening for season 3 of Log Horizon. Rinne (mv) their heaviest song they have.

In my opinion, Unseen World is their best album. I would say the heaviest songs from the album are I Still Seek Revenge, After Life. Black Hole, Giovanni, and H-G-K are a lot faster pace songs, but not heavier. Rinne still sounds heavier than I Still Seek Revenge, After Life.

First, interesting comparison to Cohee and Cambria, who are also so good and so creative. SO - on your remark about "are we still not hitting the nail on the head?" - well, in the case of this Band, as I think one of you already may be figuring out, they have so many completely different sounding songs (all great) that it'll take you several to start getting an idea of their abilities and level of songwriting skill. I'm not sure it's possible to say that they have "a sound" (although in general it's great quality hard rock that makes you smile a lot), because they've changed up their sound from one year to the next and their catalogue is SO varied. Usually a hard rock base, but heavily incorporating elements of different genres just to mess with you. In short they are still growing, and they will indeed dominate the world. The world will be infinitely better when the Maid-Revolution takeover is complete, and they have assumed control. They have assumed control. They have assumed control...

Nice call on the Coheed and Cambria, I've thought that before..esp. for this song..The chorus is a melody Claudio could have written, plus his range is so high for a dude..same range as Saiki ha..and they would do the breakdown in the middle, solos..maybe not Misa's... another one of the best, most versatile drummers now in Coheed..Personally, song for song, I prefer Band Maid. Plus, they're tighter live I'd say. Nice reaction.. Try Band Maid-Warning, Manners.. live- Puzzle -band version and acoustic version (Kanami, Saiki).

Long-time metalhead here (I've seen Iron Maiden in the '80s). I'm also a big fan of bands like Coheed and Cambria, The Mars Volta, etc. Thank you for following up with my current favorite band. Whether you react to them again or not, I urge you to check out more of their stuff. I suggest "Rinne", which is their proper heavy metal song, and "Different", which is more of a prog punk song. While there's no video for their fastest song, "Black Hole", you can find a lyric video for it. Its BPM is as fast as Dragonforce gets. And look for "Giovanni", their most progressive song (either the lyric video or the instrumental version, of which there is a proper video). Thanks

One never hits the "Band-Maid nail" on the head coz it is always moving. Eg: with what Tom Clark posted about wanting heavier...... then there is Daydreaming, About us and Wonderland which are the polar opposites.... then come's some REAL groove in Manners and The Dragon Cries ..... AND then comes everything else both inside and outside the Rock sphere. 100+ songs.... you may find 10?? you don't like. Not a bad ratio. And this is coming from an old Maiden/Metallica Head Banger.

Thanks for doing another Band Maid reaction!! If you want a little harder/metal, I'd recommend Rinne (MV). While they have some that I think are more metal, I /think/ that this is the hardest with a video. Without, I think Black Hole or H-G-K might be the best. But they have a great number of awesome hard rock with both live and MV's to check out as well.

Still THE best live Rock band on Earth. This was the 23rd song of their live set. When 3 of them crowd around the drummer they are playing 'Hengao' (strange faces) which consists of them making funny faces at the drummer in an attempt to put her off, which to me just shows how accomplished they are as musicians to do that and not miss a beat, and what good, trusting friends they are. When MISA begins her bass solo, if you look carefully you can see she is holding a plectrum in the web of skin between her thumb and finger so she can move from picking to slapping in an instant, not an easy skill. Oh, and Bandmaid sound best when played much louder - volume control set to 11 usually does it!

"...opening for Babymetal" - 😆 bwa-ha-ha! It's like saying: "AC-DC' opening for Spice Girls". FYI: Band-Maid is an original real rock band, who compose/write/play/arrange/produce their own music without any serious funding. Band-Maid is just 5 extremely talented daring girls on their own. Unlike Band-Maid, Babymetal is a commercial idol-group project (2-3 adolescent girls) ran by Amuse Inc. and funded by entire Japanese music industry. Kami band (highly professional session musicians) who provides an accompaniment for dancing/singing idol-girls is not a part of Babymetal - they never get any credits on Babymetal releases - nothing personal, just business. Get a grip!

Certain music genres like hard-rock, heavy metal, prog-rock, punk, goth etc. are never been endorsed by mainstream music industry. This strikes me as odd.....most of the adulation for this band, these written comments, all read and sound very similar. ALMOST as though they were written by the same person....and unusual grammatical errors by people with English-speaking-sounding names. Claims that can’t be taken seriously - LOTS OF THEM. I looked up a name or two online, and can find no evidence that they actually exist. BeenVerified, Twitter, Facebook- that’s very strange. Now who would do that ? The same puppet-masters pumping music into the speakers at live shows for these musicians to strum their guitars to ? For money? Gross. If true, GROSS. The only thing they can’t manipulate? The music really isn’t very good. You aren’t fooling anyone. Go make an honest living - you’ll feel better.
