Hey guys! I know it's been a while and again, I've really missed you! With that said, I feel like I'm back and at the top of my game. This in my opinion, is by far my best episode and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. It covers deck editing, locals, regionals, a big road trip and of course, cooking with Ruggles ;) Also, the next few weeks are looking fairly clear so we might just be back to weekly uploads! When you're done with this episode make sure you check out Gab's vlog where we did a little collaboration! kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXPNaGSAq8R8iac Also, on a more serious topic, as I noted in the video, recently Alex was in a pretty bad car accident and could really use some assistance. As a greek person I was kinda shocked when you made Spanakopita and didnt call it spinach pie! Next time try opening your own dough and apply layers of dough and filling as if you were making lasagna into an oven pan. Fold the edges so the inside doesnt dry out and so you get these amazing crispy edges. Then you can just place it in the oven or apply some butter/egg wash on the upper layer to get a crispier result

Agreed. I miss the grindy duels from back in the day yugioh. My friends and I duel using old formats to get those grind games. However with the time constraints of tournaments nowadays it doesn't surprise me that many people dont wanna do that. But it was the foundation of dueling for many years and with how fast paced the meta currently is, its nice to slow things down and enjoy it.
@TehWhiteTiger4 жыл бұрын
I quit competitive Yugioh back when he did and honestly the current state of the game does not appeal to me at all. I completely agree that each player being able to play is much more appealing that the current 'fast pace' style. But to each their own and I can see why it would look dragged out in comparison. I still enjoy watching these even if I can't follow a lot of it xD.

A series documentary like this is completely nostalgic and is reassuring there are great communities still enjoying this game. I am a current veteran in the military and I do keep up with the game and current meta somewhat. But due to a ridiculous schedule, there really isn't too much time for me to participate in tournaments. However I do go to my local card shop from time to time to be able to trade with players and hang out with friends. I really enjoy your series and I have watched every episode so far and I think you really capture the essence of what the game and community truly is. I appreciate your content and I look forward to every episode.

Hi Ruggles! I just want to say thank you for such great content as of far! I really get nostalgic watching these videos, remembering all the fun times I've had with all of my friends (the late night hangouts, the joy and laughter shared amongst each other during those times, and the community feeling). It was a special feeling I had during college, and I've been lacking that special feeling post college with work and everyone being busier. It made me wish I recorded some of my college memories! So thank you for allowing us to see into your lenses some of your personal experiences! And best of luck with getting that invite!

If you find a way to clear some time on your weekends I would heavily recommend finding a locals and trying to get back into it. Just a thought :)
@PaddySteadyGo4 жыл бұрын
For me as a player like you, that is roundabout in the same age and played like you more or less in the years 2005 up to 2007/8 this nostalgic vibes absolutely satisfy me! My way back to the game was through Duel Links since the end of 2017. I am playing it every day and convinced some friends to play it as well. We built Duel Links decks in real life and meet each other every two to three weeks to play with real cards, but in the Duel Links format and not competitive. You guys sometimes remind me on ourselves with just having a good time and not primarily caring about winning. I (still) did not get back in the real TCG again, but maybe one day I will watch your videos and then I will say: I also want to go back into Yugioh. Anyway keep up this amazing work and passion for your videos, it is always so smooth and fun to watch them! Greetings from Germany!

I know it's not as good but do you think the BLS link would be a good replacement? In the combo you use construct to make the appolousa so at least when you make the BLS link it has the effect to keep itself somewhat protected and some decks have a hard time to get over that without a kaiju when you make it 4500atk

Once again really great video, i agree with all the things you said about the gameplay and the community. I hope your friend is ok. Oh and as for my recommendation chicken n shrimp cacciatori is a really great Italian dish that i think the w of you would enjoy very much.

@@Ruggles117 The community thing is still at works, even though I have more than 3 years playing the game and going to the closest thing to a local card shop here, im really introverted so I dont really have that much interaction with all the people, but I have gotten lots of friends that I really appreciate, thanks for the wishes man, love ya videos and keep doing what you do, I really love how motivating just these videos where, to the point of me finally trying to do something that to me is as important as a tournament, really hoping that even if I cant get to go to regionals due to my age, parents or budget in general, I will still be participating in locals and maybe someday in the future, try a regional. Like I said, best of wishes for you, love all that you do, and keep the great work

Your community it something I strive to find. There's no community like yours in my area, so hold those friends close.

Yeah, we are pretty lucky, but we've also been building. I've invited a lot of friends from my highschool days and they definitely help. Sometimes it's not about finding the community, it's about building it :)

@@Ruggles117 I'd love a segment in the next video on how y'all built this community. The things we've tried haven't really worked in our college town.
@Ruggles1174 жыл бұрын
@@nicholaslipsette4434 Admittedly I do think we're in a bit of a unique situation as this channel and the community (you guys!) has excited a lot of our older players & brought some people from out of town. Aside from that though, as a specific example, I bumped into my buddy Wes at the bank and said "Hey, nice to see you! Want to catch up and start playing yugioh again?' He said sure and well, now that's another great regular lol Another fun example. I just saw a friend from high school post on an FB story that he was watching an episode of the original anime so I sent him a message. I noted the shop, the members and so he came down and played for the first time last week. Lots of little things like that and friends telling friends :)
