Returning to Yu-Gi-Oh! Trying a New Competitive Lunalight Deck! A Yu-Gi-Oh Challenge! Episode 12

After finding an incredible Yu-Gi-Oh community on KZbin and series such as Nyhmnims "Sealed Only Challenge" as well as Revzcards "Yu-Gi-Oh from scratch" I felt wildly inspired to step back into the trading card game after a 10 year hiatus.
This however is not a sealed only channel. I will be re-building my competitive decks and collections primarily through singles. Shout out to Cimoooo.
On the twelfth episode of returning to Yu-Gi-Oh! we attempt to build a brand new competitive deck focusing on lunalights and some new popular magician cards. We start by learning the basic combos and looking at some quality deck lists. I also try a couple different engines, test against spyral, altergiest and bring it to my local tournament! The new format and meta have been a lot of fun thus far and I really look forward to continuing to fill you guys in on the journey. I've been following since the first week when your video got put in my recommendations. And as someone that got back into actually playing the game last year when the Salamangreat structure deck came out, it makes me really happy to see someone else come back into the game and learn all the new mechanics and rulings so fast. The fact that this series can just prove that anyone can come back after a very long hiatus and learn the changes to the game so quickly gives me a really good feeling inside. The editing and overall quality of this series has also just been outstanding and makes every video a treat to watch. I do want to point something out about that second game in swiss though. I'm not sure if you glossed over something or if you both missed it, but El Shaddoll Apkalone cannot be destroyed by battle. So it should've been there on the field after your Utopia double and Borrelsword attacked into it.

I remember watching from episode 1 till 9 in one setting. this might be a long comment, so I'm a player who played the game since the early days of yugioh and I played in the tcg for my whole life, grew up and traveled to Malaysia to pursue college, had 0 experience in the ocg format and meta decks I decided to go to a local shop nearby, few of the locals noticed me and were super friendly, this was in 2013. they became close friends to me and really helped me going. I stopped playing when Qliphort were meta in the ocg, pendulums wasn't for me, and didn't like playing with it or against it. I returned to the game 2 months ago, met my good old friends they helped me again, met new friends and tbh I'm having the best time of my life, I loved your videos because it relate to me and was really emotional when you mentioned old friends and how helping they were and still are today. Ayyy bro! Keep grinding out the regionals! I know sometimes it can feel bad/discouraging coming up short for your goal (in this case an invite) in consecutive events but as long as you keep doing you and enjoying yourself the rest of the other stuff will come. Ngl, this series is what made me pick up some of my old yugioh decks. One of my favorites being Lunalight and while I don’t necessarily like playing meta and I like pure builds, I do respect people that take the time to make theses kinds of decks more better.
