This episode does nothing but prove to me that Steven Universe should be a 22 minute per episode show, instead of 11 minutes per episode. 11 minutes is nowhere near enough time for them to properly pace out their episodes, and this episode is a perfect example of the type of work they can do with more time.

You know, I actually didn't even think twice about the Ruby and Sapphire kiss, and in fact barely even took notice of it. I didn't even realize until you guys brought it up here how significant that having that actually was. The amazing thing about Steven Universe is that the LGBT representation is so natural and seamless, that you sometimes don't even think about it because it's so normalized. I love how it's never even remarked upon, and everyone is just accepting by default.

I'm really interested in the fact that the Diamonds' ships got broken. Presumably they'll be fixable, but until then Y and B are stuck on Earth. I'm not sure that they'll ever see it the way Pink did, but it might give them the chance to learn to appreciate organic life to some extent.

a really big thing to me was the fact that lapis was not going through the grief of blue's tears. It really grounds that lapis has been through years of abuse and loneliness and the way they executed it so well. This episode has completely changed my view on lapis from finally understanding what she has been through and explain some of her actions This episode was tying up the knot on her redemption arc.

From what I can tell lapis is actually extremely rare gem with a lot of resources poured into her [ note in Mirror Gem the Crystal Gems had no idea what she was or could do ] , shes a terraformer , Blue would of definitely would of recognised a gem like that , Lapis's might been told they would get harsh punishment directly from the diamonds in order to be able to take orders, this could manifest as fear or anxiety like we see in our Lapis though she might be an extreame case . Blue seems to of had domain over Lapis's as they would be needed in the later stages of colony . Lapis's would probably be cased as a type of Nobility on home world so they could be kept close to the court but were probably not given any type of power given our Lapis's feeling of helplessness in the face of authority . In Reunited , Our Lapis is shown to be far stronger then she thinks she is , with stevens help shes now Resistant to Blue's form of Subduing Gems , Lapis is still relatively inexperienced at actaully using her abilitys in a combat sense she may of been the first ever Lapis to even do this which probably why Yellow aimed to poof her first to make sure to take out such a tank before she got her stride. On a side note lapis can fly with out a ship many times the speed of light once at speed which is pretty insane since she took the barn and her to the Edge of the Milkyway and back in a few weeks tops , she is by far the most powerful gem we know of so far but she just doesn't know it yet ....Jasper did say after fusing that we shouldn't be afraid of Jasper but of Lapis instead I think all this is pretty neat :'3

I think the rooms arent "made". They come into existence when a gem enters them and then exists until that gem cease to exist. Like Sardonyx's room. The moment Garnet and Pearl unfused the room fell apart.

Extremely excited to see Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth as permanent members of the team. (From the ad after the episode) It looks like Centi is also gonna possibly get uncorrupted too, which will be a really good arc. Overall, this episode is now my favorite in the series, the battle against BD was really good and the biggest highlight of the episode. 10/10 CN, you did it.

They probably felt guilty leaving Bismuth in a bubble, even if she tried to kill Steven. Amethyst wouldn’t have felt the same way because she never got to know Bismuth.

IceColorKierson yellow is usually fear actually. Green is more in line with joy. Red would be anger and pink is love. Blue Diamond is sad. Yellow Diamond is frightening and Pink Diamond is full of love despite having a temper.

Im thinking that in the chest, pink left tapes for everyone she really cared for. She left some for the Crystal Gems, Greg, and the Diamonds even tho she thought they might not see them. She still wanted a way to be with them when shes gone and to give some final goodbyes. It was also a way to let everything off of her chest and let everyone know how things played out through her perspective. Man my mind is *abuzz* with where this show could go from here. One little thing that’s on my mind is that fact that Connie (and presumably also other humans) is immune to Blue’s “Grief Field”. The episode makes a point out of it and yet when you think about it, it’s not something that actually contributes meaningfully to the fight. It just makes me think that that’s gonna come back in a significant way later, either with Blue or a similar kind of effect from Yellow or White.

Nova Universe she was unaffected by it in the first scene with Bismith and Peridot around her. I think the scene with Lapis resisting it and Connie crying was a story boarding error. Lars didn’t cry in the trial either, so I think it’s been established that Blue’s power only affects gems (it didn’t affect lion as well).

Abel Judah I thought that at first but then I just assumed it was more intense the second time because this episode would be the most unlikely to have a storyboarding error. Even if it was tho I don't think that has any further significance than what's already been shown.

Nova Universe yes this episode would have had a lot of focus and attention, but there is also a lot going on, making it easier for minor details to fall slightly out of place. I think that the focus on Lapis overshadowed the other characters, making the boarders forget to make Connie not cry. However, I do agree that this is probably all the significance this will get.

Lars and Connie were both unaffected by Blue‘s emotion power and Yellow has those poofing lightning powers that probably only work on the physical forms of Gems too as they are very similar to the Gem destabilizer which Steven was shown to be immune to in Jailbreak.

I feel like the continuity driven and serious episodes should be 22 minutes, but the side episodes and the beach city citizen ones are fine as 11 minutes. And what I like about the future of the series is that what will happen next. Because we don't know. We truly can't see it coming. I want to be actually shocked and not know what is coming.

With their ships destroyed, Y & B are stuck here, probably without communication, while Homeworld continues on without them. They have no way to call off any attacks or report on their findings. Getting them back to their Homeworld is probably a big part of next season.

I have to say, this was the biggest case where the leaks ruined the episodes for me. I knew the wedding was going to happen, i knew Bismuth was coming back, i knew the dresses from Ruby and Sapphire, i knew Lapis and Peridot where going to poof and i knew the diamonds would find out Steven is Pink. This entire arc had surprises for anyone who was blind, but i knew what was going to happen and for me it was super predictable. As such, i had zero emotion to anything.

Juan Don Nadie not really. There were still plenty of surprises. Did we know how Amethyst would take PD=Rose? Did we know about Pearl's flashback? What about the song we got? Did we know the cluster would be on our side? Did we know the cluster would return at all? What about Blue shattering Pink's sword? The answer to all of these is no. That's not to mention how badass the Diamonds were, regardless of the lack of surprise.

I don't think Steven got poofed. I think he got knocked unconscious which is like sleeping so he went into dream mode which allowed him to interact with everyone's psyche. Like he told Connie, it was some sort of psychic ghost thing.

You got to remember, they are ruthless tyrants who share beliefs basically the opposite of the Crystal Gems. The value of organics isn't the only ethical issue the Diamonds have...

sadlobster1 I'm just concerned as to how he'd befriend them. Like I said, they aren't exactly good "people". They despise off-colors so much they'd murder them all, they condone slavery (Pearls), enforce a rigid caste system, and casually commit genocide when colonizing. That's a huge hurtle to overcome. I just don't see how they'll get past this. And it's not like the Diamonds feel remorse for any of that! I can't imagine them just ignoring all of it... I really like the Diamonds as characters, but when you think on it, I'm not so sure that they'll get along with the Crystal Gems.

Firstly; we gotta remember that we've met our fair share of equally malicious figures, over the course of the series. Figures like Peridot, Lapis and Bismuth (though, her behavior was more misguided than malicious.) Yet, in the end; after spending some time with Steven. They began to see the error of their ways and become close to him. Secondly, I'm well aware of how horrid the Diamonds have been; there's no denying that. But they were especially horrible to their "sister," Pink and have regretted their actions when they heard of her "shattering." Which makes me think that, now that they're momentarily stranded on Earth. They will get the chance to, possibly, learn the same value Pink found in the planet. Thirdly; to add more to that point, they seem to think all gems died during the war. After they and White unleashed the "Corruption Blast," as we fans call it. Perhaps, once they've seen a corrupted Gem up close and learn that this happened to many of their followers. It might help them understand how wrong they have been. Finally, in spite of everything the Diamonds did. It's like Steven said in the episode. They aren't enemies, they're (essentially) family and families should NEVER be at war with each other. But that's just my theory/feelings on the matter

sadlobster1 The difference between Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth is that all of them were misguided. During their redemption arcs, the writers deflected their past misdoings onto the Diamonds. Peridot was indoctrinated. She herself was in the caste system and made to believe the Diamonds were perfect. After she got over this, she realized how wrong she was. Lapis was just angry and confused. She never had any inert character flaws besides being skiddish and eager for vengeance. Bismuth is a whole other case. I personally don't think she was in the wrong. Overzealous? Yeah. But was she thematically and philosophically incorrect? I don't think so. She made extremely sound points about the war and how Rose's morals were compromising their war effort. It all makes sense now that we know PD=Rose, but that doesn't exactly diminish Bismuth as a character. Her only flaw is her overaggressiveness. Nothing beyond that, really. The Diamonds, on the other hand, are not only the source of the horrible things in Gem Culture, they directly benefit from it. Not only that, but all of these past redemption arcs have been deflecting even more blame onto the Diamonds. They've got some serious amounts of blood on their hands. I think the show can pull it off, but they'll need to devote much more time to it than normal. An entire season might be necessary. One way they might go about it is by deflecting the blame, yet again, onto somebody else. (White Diamond anyone?)

This episode was fantastic. I felt it had a series finale feel to it but obviously it is not over yet. This does lead me to question what will happen in season six. With Blue and Yellow diamonds plotline looking like it will be resolved by seasons end who will be the antagonist next season. I wonder if White Diamond will finally be mentioned or appear to perhaps fill that role.
