Just wow... before he passed away, I had the amazing privilege of taking about 8 in-person lessons from Rev Davis, and I hope it's not disrespectful to say your version was pure delight, he would have been so proud... I wonder if you've mastered Hesitation Blues yet... and I would love to add THANK YOU so much for keeping these legendary artists' music alive... I need to listen to everything you play now...

I met Reverend Gary in the Gaslight Cafe in New York . He was with Stefan Grossman . He was all dressed up shined shoes and a fine suit and wearing sun glasses .I was sitting in the Greenroom with them I Remember Stefan was cutting the tip off of cigar and lighting it for the Reverend . The Reverend began telling a story about a woman he knew. Stephen was correcting tablature in a spiral notebook. He was writing down Candyman . He’d stop and sing a part and then write it down. When the time came he led The Reverend out on the stage of the Gaslight and I went back to washing dishes. Funny me a white boy working as a porter in a night club and Gary a Blackman was the star performer passing each other like subway trains in the underground.

Ah! The confidence you showed for your first time out was incredible - whether or not you felt it inside. Getting those guitar fills in just shows your talent, as people generally play to about 80% of capability on stage vs at home. Superb! It’s a pity the guitar came across a bit tinny, but it didn’t detract from the performance. Well done, Muireanne!

I wasn't feeling too confident, my throat was dry and tight, and I couldn't hit the low notes, and I was rushing a bit, but I think it will be easier next time . I think they are going to give me the video with sound from the desk, so maybe I"ll post that when I get it!

Damn it’s so crazy how her southern accent forms when she’s singing. I’m from the Uk and live in the Southern states of the US and I learned so much ragtime, country, folk and blues and that accent isn’t something simple for Brits.
