Jeez that is expensive! Looks really good on though. In my experience, once a problem with a zip, always a problem. I've had boots that have had to be repaired multiple times because of bad design and unsuitable zips. Great video!

It’s the price new race jackets are now 😢. Leave them a few years and they drop to around £350

I bought the Sand 4 H2O Jacket, and I had a big problem with the zipper from the get go. Other than that, I loved the jacket, but my zipper broke right before I was suppose to go on an off road tour. I took it to a seamstress and had the zipper replaced, cost me about $35 USD. I'm also in the US, so I had the zip size reversed - seems like you guys across the pond have your zipper openings reversed.

@@JohnLaCroixRenaissanceMan I think Rev’IT need to look at zippers they have gone backwards, small, fiddly and failing.

I'm planning to buy this jacket but have a small concern that the sleeve might be too short for the size I purchase . It would be really helpful for me to decide a size if you could share your sleeve length
@yodomcat
@yodomcat 12 күн бұрын
Don’t know on length; but Rev’IT are longer in the sleeve than all other brands so I doubt you’ll have any trouble 👍🏻

Never had this issue with older chunkier zips. Which are easier to do up with a gloved hand.

ZIP goes pear shaped on my vertex GT, not a deal breaker though, easy enough to put a better zip on

@@yodomcat an for £500+ you dont want to be having to shell that out and then have to pay again to have another zip put on do you? shame as i really really liked this jacket - i wish Dainese still made the Dinamica!

Front zip failure - this would not have been tested - is it a design flaw or a faulty zip???? I would like to know what happened next - did you return the jacket for a refund or repair??? how did they deal with that issue??? excellent video.
@yodomcat
@yodomcat Жыл бұрын
Bought from sportsbike shop. Emailed to say the issue and that I want to change to another jacket. Straightaway dealt with no issue. I have a store near me so was sorted the next day took the jacket in and the new one delivered. New jacket is the Quantum2, which looks to have the same zip… but no issues with it so far, so probably a faulty zip on the Hyperspeed2 Air. As mentioned in another comment; it is user error for not putting the zip in the keep enough, but that is an error the user shouldn’t be able to make on such an important safety point. If Rev’IT read this - please use chunky main zips like aStars do! Quantum2 is ace, but that small zip means you need to de-glove and it’s not easy even then.

When commuting i prefer a leather jacket with textile pants. From my understanding all revit textile pants do not really connect good on a leather jacket. Since the leather jackets are shorter...
@yodomcat
@yodomcat Жыл бұрын
The jacket has the long and short connectors so it should connect just fine 👍🏻

@@hilledegroot i have just discovered recently you can see a tailor and have that adjusted by adding more of the zipper stretch material.

This may be a stupid question but is this comfortable enough to wear on relaxed joyrides on a naked bike? Or is it so ergonomically shaped to be in a tuck or full tuck position that one should only get it for aggressive riding or for the track?
@yodomcat

I have a S1000R which is a naked. It is very comfortable, and once broken i would imagine second skin comfort.

Would you wear it for 30°-37°c? Asking from tokyo where 44c in August isn't unheard of.😅

At those temps I’d go Knox urbane pro (have a video on it). If you have to go leather suit then the aStars GP ridenit is more flowing (again have a video). I would say low 30° the Rev’IT is peaking.

@yodomcat thanks for the note. I like leather since (in my experience) most crashes leave the jacket needing a wash assuming it kept you out of the hospital. Textile can be a bit quicker to tear. And AAA rating is cool.

Did you zip it correctly to begin with ? Just a thought … surprised it’s rated at AAA as it’s perforated . I have a Danisese textile mesh jacket with really hard front and back armour elbows y shoulder that I love . Bit pricey too , jeez
@yodomcat
@yodomcat Жыл бұрын
No I was a mm or two out and that’s why it unzipped as not fully in the keep; but that shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Such a shame as a perfect jacket otherwise; just put a great big chunky zip you can do up with gloves! Alpinestars can do it 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@yodomcat ah, so in theory , a user error BUT, you would like to see a bigger more chunky zip keeper ? I Find the safety ratings confusing at times . When it’s summer you need the compromise with safety and not overheating . BTW , my biking is better than ever . But still a tad nervous on some twistys .. improved though for sure .
@yodomcat
@yodomcat Жыл бұрын
@@peterkenworthy9219 oh yeah user error BUT the user should not be allowed to make that error, especially because of the safety compromise. For safety always go AA as a min and you’re good. If you go A be aware and adjust your riding to suit; or slip a Knox action shirt under and that’ll beef it up 👍🏻
