Well made video. Another important point for the RevAir is that it requires low to no manipulation. The brush dryer requires constant manipulation. Some hair types, like my 4c, are badly damaged with constant brushing or combing. I received my RevAir 11/28/18. It’s now 12/13/18. I’ve used it twice. I am completely impressed. The brush blower would be convenient for traveling because there’s no way the RevAir will fit in my carry-on.

I have both hair dryers and I love my Rev Air. You have to figure out the ideal settings and technique for your type of hair, but once you do, the results are fabulous. If you want bone straight hair, however, the Rev Air won’t give that to you, but it will get your roots to some degree. I start on a low setting and then increase the heat to finish my hair off.

Its really about preference , I like the revair for the simple fact I don’t have to constantly comb my hair after detangling . I wear my hair in twist and sometimes it late so air drying isn’t an option , plus sitting under the hooded dryer is a hassle because my hair in the back isn’t dry. With the revair I can dry my twist and elongate them w/o much manipulation. I wouldn’t compare it to a brush or a comb attachment seeing that each dryer can achieve different looks .
@loveherstuff5 жыл бұрын
Enjoyed seeing your comparison of both, think the Revlon would be good for traveling for work or fun. I’m sure someone’s mentioned it already, but the revair works better when the section is combed first. It’s great that there are so many options to choose from, instead of the long, back in the day process ♥️.

I think it goes without saying that you have to comb your hair once you use the revair blow dryer because, unlike the revlon brush blow dryer, it doesn’t have a brush or comb attachment. So with those who use the revair blow dryer successfully, they just simply comb it and it’s fine.

The Revlon brush seems like the better buy all the way around. My daughters are super tender headed, no tears with the revlon. Helps detangle, dries quickly...best 35 bucks I spent for hair product. I couldn't justify spending 400 bucks even if I had it to shave off 2 min of hair drying time. The other side didn't look completely dry in the front either. I'd say buy 10 revlon dryers before you buy one of the other.

Same. It's too much damage with the Revlon, you have to go over the same strand so many times and the hair needs to be in direct contact with the dryer at all times...also so much tugging and pulling's ripping my hair out. I'm thinking of getting the revair for Xmas so I've been watching reviews and I believe the results will be much better using the other tips I've seen (detangling first, holding it directly to the scalp to get the roots, trying out the different settings). I believe you doing a loose bun on the Revlon side made some difference. You mentioned it looked less sectioned, the loose bun would have put strands together. It also has more volume because wasn't as fresh since you moved to the next side , and looks more straight partly because the bun would have stretched the ends. It would have also helped to comb through the revair side before drying since it doesn't have a comb feature

For my natural Afro-textured hip-length hair, detangling *while* blow drying is crucial. I finger detangle exclusively. I only comb or brush my straightened hair. So, when I start to blow out my hair, which I only do before straightening, it is as thoroughly detangled as my fingers can get it. Therefore, I need the comb attachment and the forced hair from my dryer to gently detangle, stretch, and dry my hair simultaneously. I have a second blow dryer that I use with a concentrator attachment and paddle brush. But I’m not very good at this method and my hair tends to get wound around the brush at times. I am considering the Revlon blow dryer brush to use instead to give me the same amount of detangling, straightening, and volume but with more ease and control. ❤
@SweetJeopardy Жыл бұрын
I'm with you, I've never been able to get my hand to work the brush while the other's holding the dryer, lol. The Revlon dryer brush did help me out with that tbh, it's definitely easier to use...but, I have to be real with you, I've stopped using it cause it gave me so much heat damage and breakage. Thing with the Revlon is that the nozzle *is* the brush, so it's like taking your regular dryer and placing it directly in contact with your hair. You can't regulate how much heat you apply to a part of the strand by pulling the dryer further or closer to the hair cause it always needs to be touching it at all times, it's like a flat iron in that way; the brush's teeth are so short too - as opposed to a regular comb attachment- so you really . The Revlon gets extremely hot too, which is why it works in straightening thick or coarse hair, but at the same time it's what makes it useless after a little while cause the hair fried quickly and honestly no heat protectant's effective at those temperatures. And if you want silk press results, you're still gonna have to go over your hair with a flat iron or curler, so even more high, direct heat...it's too much. There's also a lot of pulling and tugging with the Revlon too -the brush is just a regular paddle brush, it's not a detangling comb - and you end up ripping a lot of hair out. Much more so than with a dryer with comb attachments in my experience. I hate to see how much hair ends up on the brush afterwards. I'm seriously considering getting something like the revair for xmas, it looks like it works differently than just blowing extremely hot air and ripping the hair out. I've been lookin at other videos and this vlogger didn't seem to use it correctly so I'm not feeling this review. I've lost a lot of length to heat damage and it won't grow past a certain point cause it'll break off. There's a point were no amount of deep conditioning or treatments will work anymore, in the end hair is dead cells, you can only try to prevent damage. TL;DR: it helps with ease of styling, but is extremely damaging for ends and roots with continuous long-term use.

@@SweetJeopardy: WOW! Thank you SO much for the info. I needed to know this. I really appreciate your taking the time to give me the benefit of your insight and experience. ❤️ I thought about the RevAir too, but have several misgivings, direct heat being one of them. Plus, I really don’t blow dry my hair often enough to warrant spending $400. I hear the RevAir causes tangling and that the hair must be thoroughly detangled beforehand. However, I’ve also been told that the filter can be changed and the hose cleaned out to prevent product buildup inside. How *thoroughly* it can be cleaned is probably another story. I’m beginning to think the old-fashioned blow-dryer-with-comb-attachment method is my best bet, both for effectiveness and damage prevention. It takes more time and effort, but maybe it’s worth it. I *never* experience noticeable breakage or shedding with this method. Thank you, take care, and happy holidays! 🥰

It's so huge and loud. Traveling with this.....a no go. Next up I found that my roots we're not nearly as smooth or straight as my other methods that include a good ole fashion paddle brush as well as the blow dry tension method. This was with a variety of levels and hi and low heat. It didn't matter. Lastly for me, and this is just me I found that I had to brush quite a bit which really is the same as other blow dry methods. Okay so that looks like a vacuum cleaner and I’m amazed 😂 it looked like magic that might be worth $400 but the Revlon side had more bounce 🥰

What number did you put it on it should be high heat and #7 for tight curly hair

If you use smaller sections and brush the sections afterwards, it would look totally different.

I dont feel like u really detangled ur hair b4 using the revair.....i have both and the revlon brush makes my hair feel dried out and the revair no heat damage. I think you need to do another one when u really detangle your hair.
