The only way you are gonna make that power with those cubes is with ALOT of compression and ALOT of rpm and this car has both lol. Its pretty damn bad ass....plus its a featherweight

That's static compression, you're thinking about the compression the way it works in a fix camshaft engine, when you can vary the camshafts independently that allows the LSA to drop the dynamic compression ratio through the TQ spike to a safe level, which is going to be pretty high on Ethanol or race fuel anyway.

This is my favorite car in the NMRA! I'll never forget watching back in the day Mike flip his car over backwards and burn up on the track it was crazy but he walked away unscathed! He got nerves of steel but I guess that helps when you're a firefighter!

First time seeing Mike. I knew from the get go he was a fire fighter. Reminds me of my buddy an ex-NJ FF, he'd still be one if a building didn't fall on him. Same raspy voice and energy. Everybody is hey pal and his buddy. Don't piss him off though as hands will be thrown. Being a FF is the only job for that energy level and enthusiasm. Thank you Mike for what you do. Lumbee Warrior had an 86 that I liked and a good 4 eye is pretty but 87-93 always be my favorite. Miss my 96 mystic cobra too. Always loved the front end of those cobras

7.3 has a 6 bolt main. That engine not just a big small block truck engine. Powerful engine. I wouldn't be surprise 7.3 stroke engine heavy modded could reach up to 4k hp.

Wait a couple years and let the aftermarket get a grip on the 7.3, weight to CI ratio is in the 7.3s favor so it would be a beast with an 8.2 stroker fat cam and some ported heads i dont see why 1k hp on low boost would be a problem BUT the Coyote backing is here now lol

For some reference. A 358 inch FR9 (RY45) is making about 950 hp at the crank with 12/1 and a flat tappet cam.

For those that maybe don’t know he is describing a “slipper” clutch which has revolutionized stick shift racing in the last few years. The technology used (adjustable weights to control speed of the clutch lockup) comes right out of top fuel and funny cars.

Gotta luv high rpm! Thanks for sharing. I wonder how much longer a high end conical spring would hold up? Get you an 8" section of 3/8" fuel hose to retrieve and install those plugs. I can't trust a plug that I dropped. Only time will tell.

Wow, that is amazing to run mid 8’s with an NA 330ci engine. Got some voodoo magic going on inside that little coyote for sure. The car would definitely be quicker with a 5 speed. You could hear the engine being pulled down in 3rd and 4th.

Some of the flaws that he dismisses as kinks are the reason it makes so much power and runs so fast. For example if he upgraded springs he'd lose at least 20 horse. If the rear axle didn't tilt under load he'd lose traction farther into his gears instead of between shifts. I haven't seen many cars under 800 horse running under 8 seconds. This is one fine balancing act.
