The mighty N351 was a 10 degree valve angle Iron cylinder head for the grass roots privateer Ford stockcar, circle track, Nascar type racing, Ford even released a upgraded Version called the N352, which shrunk intake and exhaust port size but kept flow the same, Nascar didnt allow the N352 as it would upset parity with the 350ci chev combos.

Evan, you'll have to stop by Onondaga Dragway sometime in 2025 and check the place out..we have been giving it hell to make into a decent 1/8 mile Outlaw style dragstrip. I'll have my new 331 nitrous engine, new C4 and all new suspension in my 1965 Comet that will be setup for index and no prep style racing. No tubs, factory interior, original paint. A few of us are starting a Nostalgia class where we run on a pro tree..fun stuff!!

Great interview! Super nice owner, awesome car, and I love the fact he builds his own engines. That's what it is all about. Anyone can write checks. But I doubt people like that win & set records like this gentlemen. He knows what's going on inside & out. Total respect. Insane RPM. I purchased my SuperFlow dyno from a man who tested Indy car engines and have modified the electronics to work above 10K RPM. I've never used it, but I'm glad the electronics are there if I ever need it. Awesome owber/builder, car & performance! Thanks again😊

I would love to see the combustion chambers . Btw Evan. True story. We ran wood spacer plates on our FE pulling truck motor for years. Never had an issue. And I dont remember where as it was forty plus years ago but a wood composite FE spacer plate was a " thing" you could buy back in the day. True story

The 8.2 deck SBF was made for SS/CS. I may have seen Darin Morgan working on these heads when he was at ReherMorrison. I took the engine building course there 8 or 10 years ago.

I didn't hear what block this is, a 4 bolt Ford Racing Boss 302? Sportsman? Or is it a girdled and hard blocked stock 2 bolt block? I'm thinking it has to be something real stout to hold that kind of RPM.

That block is a dart SHP, My other block is an SVO early version non screw frost plugs. In the early days I ran a 1970 Boss 302 service block, until one rebuild a cap literally fell in half when we removed it. Its bad economy to not run an "aftermarket" block!

We had a championship winning N head dirt car. Sad the track changed rules saying no offset rocker arms making the N head not usable. Sad the rule makers destroy it for the Firds. Nice piece good luck with NHRA that seems to always handicap the Fords if they win too much 😢

Engine has at least 6 figures costs in parts, not to mention development costs. Some teams try dozens of cams to find needed power curve . Exhaust and intake also tested.

1968 Chevy Camaro DZ 302 Factory Motor... up to 10.5 K RPMs.... when I heard that I was like what.... I did the research and well I found out that 1968 Chevy Camaro had a DZ 302 that was nasty... and you're doing very well in year 308 for sure

The wood is a stolen idea from the early pro stock sheet metal manifold days. The electronics, are simply the modules for the 8 02 sensors, to tie into the data logger!
