Is there a way you can troubleshoot the modular jack? Or once it's crimped you can't fix it as far as crossed pairs or pairs being open?

Nope. You will need a new core. They sell in packs of 50 i think. make sure u seat the core all the way in the clear part too or it wont seat in the jack/plug properly.

@@Killrskillz You gotta be effing kidding me. I have to do 140 of these this week for the first time because my customer wanted them, with cheap end cat6a. They're $20 a jack! Oh lord help me.

I don't really see the advantage of this over standard RJ45 connectors, doesn't even seem easier to terminate.
