Recognizing Patterns - David Ault

Consider a pattern as a deeply held belief embedded at a cellular level within us. These patterns may originate from self-creation, ancestry, or primal instincts. Too often, when a pattern tied to shame, panic, or fear overtakes us, we react by trying to conquer, numb, or succumb to it. We may even gather evidence to validate its grip, reinforcing the belief that “this is just the way it is.” And so, the pattern continues its cycle, dancing with us until we realize the truth-it is not holding us; we are holding it.
What shifts when we recognize patterns as simply thoughts? Whether self-created, ancestral, or primal, they are, at their core, just thoughts. Here lies one of our greatest opportunities: to love these patterns back into the nothingness from which they came.
