Bought it this afternoon, 90 minutes play time and learning the game mechanics (never played stellaris). Loving the depth and complexity, and currently watching DS9 on netflix I was impressed diplomatic relations with Bajor is with a Cardassian character.

The Star Trek games I have enjoyed are Star Trek TNG BotF (PC), Star Trek Star Fleet Academy (SNES), Star Trek Voyager Elite Squad (PS2), Star trek Legacy (XB360), Star Trek Online (XB1), and I think I will enjoy Star Trek Infinite (PC). I just wish Infinite was available somewhere other than Steam. I don't like relying on a server to have access to a game because that means someday it won't be available.

So I am older and played Birth of the Federation and Armada I and II. Loved those games, especially BotF. (PS, if you want that feeling in a board game try Star Trek Ascencion). I am looking forward to this game as well. As I am more into the campaign aspect, I won't mind if this doesn't happen but will there be multiplayer? I wanna heat the Bajeesus out of my buddies. LOL

Do you know anywhere to get a book about game play. I do not know how to get troops and build transports for the Federation. Can win fleet battles but can not take over planets of star bases. Would love to learn from someone about how to do this. AL-new gamer.

This game has what I suggested territory capture should have been. Instead of player owned systems, we would be fighting for faction control of systems. Random Borg attacks is another I suggested, but the pattern is, they will never happen in STFC.

STFC is also a MMO, so, bit different there.

I get there will be differences, but I feel STFC went the lazy direction because it was easier, instead of doing something we were going to love doing long term.

I played the game for 2 hours There's sp much to do. It feels a bit overwhelming. I'm glad there's a pause button. I still haven't gotten past the tutorial yet, lol.

This is cool. Only if we could get more great, non-mobile Star Trek games. While I love strategy and grand strategy games I had a hard time getting into Stellaris. My bread and butter will all ways be the Master of Orion series.

I only played it for a few minutes today. The one thing I don't like is that at 4k resolution the text in the game is not readable. I tried playing around with the game resolution and it just unds up looking strange. It looks like I might have to change my monitor resolution to 1080 before I play the game.

Actually it is just a mod. Mod just means modification, this game is a modification of Stellaris 3.0. The Dev said they based on an older version of Stellaris. It is just a mod.

Star Trek: Infinite is a 4X grand strategy video game developed by Argentinian studio Nimble Giant Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. Yes it is using same graphics engine as Stellaris, but it is not a mod, otherwise it wouldn't have a publisher or even be on Steam.

Absolutely! Most of the negative reviews are from another game (Stellaris)'s players as this game is a branch off from them. But, Star Trek fans and fans of grand strategy have giving some very positive reviews!

Nutrek ruined the franchise, it abandoned the hopeful outlook, the likeable characters and episode format, it ignores continuity and fires phasers at canon, and the choice to go rated M means both that many kids won't grow up with trek, and that trek merch in the toy isle isn't a thing. The lack of std, stp and snw merch alone shows how poorly nutrek has done. And while I enjoyed armada, the 4x style strategy games don't interest me. I don't mind more depth but armada was intuitive, easy and fast to learn.
