I’m in a waffle group on FB and have a chance to possibly win one. I will be choosing it if I do win.

The F-5 is a beast!!!!!! No one believes me when I told them that Mine was radared at 150mph with the older slower fms set up and over 160mph with the newer ones!!I have a brand new in box Swiss version while my ole beat up version has been flying since 2014!!!! The mirage is the fastest though with this one being a close second. Good job guys and keep these coming!!! Love the speed trials!!

Had one for 6 or so months now. Best to just land it a bit hot. Once you get used to landing it hot she's a lot of fun. I walk away from or straight up pull away from most EDF's at my club. I like half throttle give or take in the turns. I've had a couple of "wobbles" trying to turn and being to slow. About the only time I completely kill power is down slope on a loop. I started with the 70MM FMS Avanti this spring and stepped into this next. I did fly a lot in my late 20's early 30's then kind of went on hiatus. 52 now and just got back into regular flying (at least once a week) last spring. You need to be on your game but its not a handful by any means. If I'm not feeling it when I go out she doesn't go up... But that is rare. I've got the camo Sundowner scheme with an Spectrum AR6 stabilized receiver. 4000/4500 mAh is enough, 5000 mAh no significant improvement and you will probably notice the weight in handling. I love seeing other people fly them almost as much. Thanks guys.

I just got this Camo version and thanks for the flying tips. I saw a buddy of mine tip stall on a right turn to the runway and it went right into the ground!! I won’t make that mistake. Does it need a stabilizer receiver?
@mjpburke12 жыл бұрын
@@mrnickkk I am thinking about just putting a sport receiver (no gyros) in mine for the 2023 season. But I did fly with a gyro this year. So as to your question, given the high wing loading (tip stalls), like I said keep your speed up in turns (at least half throttle) and don't try turning out to soon after take off (get altitude and speed up) I think it will be fine. Search KZbin, you will find videos of guys flying this bird without gyros. Oh and landings, keep your speed up in landings, she will just plop on and you will loose gear doors if not... She is not a "glide in" bird. "Waste" the batteries practicing your landings. You WILL do go arounds mastering the correct power setting on finals. I would take gear doors off until you stop "slamming" it on. I lost 2 sets of gear doors before I smartened up... didn't put them back on until I started greasing my landings. You have to fly it into the ground not glide it.

I've been flying this all stock. Zero problems. You have to remember you can mod any of these edf jets for more performance but not always nessary. I find it completely sufficient in It's stock status. Hope this helps!
