I already have this yellow pigment Pbr24 and mixed with ultramarine Pb29, it gives the most beautiful textured gray, it's beautiful, I love this color.

thank you for putting the two blacks side by side for comparison. often seeing these online for sale is not easy as they may not have a real swatch or are separated by other colors.

Thank you for showing these new colors. I think my favorite are the raspberry and yellow…. I may try mixing the blacks myself but I like a granulating black

In case you aren't aware of the way to get paint back into the tube when you have squeezed out a little too much, just place the tube between your thumb and forefinger from side to side, rather that front to back as we usually do to get paint out. When you gently press on both sides, the paint will retract back into the tube! I was so thankful when I learned that trick! Wasted a bit of paint before I learned it and had messy paint caps.

The yellow is beautiful, not sure if I like the iridescent ones but maybe for specific painting they would be good. I did like the transparent blacks! Can see how they would be useful...thanks for sharing Gabriel!!

What does “granulation” mean?

Granulation is the effect you get when the pigment particles clump together rather than settling evenly on the painted surface.

I had a panic attack when I saw how much extortionately expensive paint you squeezed out just to do swatches, haha. And also, when I saw the word "new" (in inverted commas) I thought you were going to talk about how these colours are almost identical to other colours in the range, so not really new at all, but that wasn't the case. No worries, still a fun video. I could watch people swatch all day - even though I have a mental block about buying Daniel Smith paints because (in my own country at least) they just cost too much money, and it pisses me off. 😀

May I ask what country are from?

@@GabrielStocktonWatercolors I'm from Scotland (UK) My understanding is that Daniel Smith is an American company, so naturally they'll be cheaper in the U.S. I watch a lot of watercolour videos, the majority of which are American, and a lot of the colours reviewed in the American ones just aren't available to buy here. I have my go-to reliable brands, but it's fun to see what's out there in the world.
