@BlackTieBarn3 жыл бұрын
Sweet. Stay tuned. ;)
@christines38643 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would also love your input on the joy wax. I have candles made with that wax in a shop and I went into the shop today and the candles have scent beeds on the top. I think because the door is always open and it has been so hot and humid. I have never had that problem before with that wax. Also, your input on colors would be great. I feel compelled to give each scent it’s own color; but of course end up with several scents sharing almost the same colors.
@BlackTieBarn3 жыл бұрын
@@christines3864 warm temps and high humidity can definitely cause beads on top. Also, what FO % are you using. I would stick with 9-9.5% I know it holds 10 but i have had that be a bit too much some some heavier FOs. Or, add a 1/4-1/2 tsp of vybar if you want to squeeze that extra little bit in. That often helps. And sure, I can do another color video that focuses more on that part. I have a "color or no color" video that covers some of it. But yes I often end up with so many fragrances that many of the colors are the same or similar. But that is okay. ESPECIALLY if different seasons. But, its pretty easy to get a slightly different hue or shade of any of them. Add more or less drops of some colors, mix in others. Colors are the fun part. :)
@christines38643 жыл бұрын
@@BlackTieBarn Great idea on the vybar. I’m assuming the 260 with Joy wax. I had the scent on max threshold of 1.6% especially lately because I have noticed so much this summer the decrease in scent throw when the humid summer air arrives. Thanks again for all your input!

@BlackTieBarn2 жыл бұрын
Most says have less ht compared to blends and paraffin. You may try more FO or test for FOs that work well with soy wax
@uyenpeterson30573 жыл бұрын
Love this video. Thank you for sharing and what perfect timing. I have been testing for fall FOs for my candles. One of the scents that I loved as far as HT was the pumpkin soufflé but I really didn't care for the scent and my husband hated, so I was debating whether to use it or not, lol. I'm glad you mentioned that it is one of your best sellers. I may seriously consider it. One quick question. When I test for FOs, I only make 2 oz of wax in the 9oz straight jar (as to not waste wax in case the FO is a fail). I noticed that the first burn has a stronger HT compared to the 2nd and 3rd burn. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Should I base my decision on the 1st burn or the ones after? Thanks a lot. Really appreciate your contents.
@BlackTieBarn3 жыл бұрын
2oz isn't really enough to test wicking and performance of a candle in my opinion. With only 2oz, that first burn is pretty much melting the entire amount. Like a wax melts it would be weaker each time after. Even if just testing FO, I'd still use a bit more than than. You may also be overwicked a bit

Great suggestions. Can you recommend a very good candle Company get my dyes from. I dive in and bought 7 colorsfrom maple street and they are not good at all. I have to add way too much to get the desired color. Their orange gave me red with 3 drops🤔,there red gives me pink with 4 drops...
@BlackTieBarn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. For the dyes...Red turning pink is normal. Wax isn't translucent so they will be diluted once added to wax. I've never used their dyes, but some of what u described is common. And the hues and vibrance will vary by wax type. Paraffin and palm much richer colors than soy for example. I've mostly used candle science dyes and natures garden

Love your videos. But I think I will have to make video's on FO and candle "stuff" here in Europe... I would love to test them from the USA but import cost would be sky high ;-( Keep on doing this, you are a great example for me and I think lots of us here in Europe!!! Learned alot from you so thank you :-) Big hello from Belgium. Jessica
