Last time when you bought HDB, HDB will wiped out all your OA. In recent years, they revamped the system and let you keep 20k. So appreciate the system, dun always think the older generation always got the best deals.

The requirement to retain $20k is is to ensure that CPF members have sufficient funds in their OA as a reserve for future housing mortgage payments or other needs.
