Nothing to worry about, I would do that myself. It is only untoasted British bread that offended me when I traveled on a bycicle in Scotland with no means to toast it. Absolutely brutal, especially when it got a bit damp from the rain! Have you tried pan con tomate? Roast some bread, rub fresh garlic and a fresh tomato on it, add a sprinkle of olive oil and salt.

Wanna know a secret? We Germans eat that as well. Well, many do. It can be kind of a guilty pleasure, or just born out of necessity (just like fast food in general). The thing is, it's not the only type of bread we know and eat, so that's why we love to snuff at it.

Fantastisch wie die Musik zu der norwegischen Landschaft passt. Selbst der Wasserfall findet sich in der Musik wieder. Ok wenn Dir das Toastbrot schmeckt genieße es. Ich selbst bin nicht unbedingt ein Fan davon. Aber wie heißt es so schön: " Die Geschmäcker sind verschieden" . Und das ist gut so.

Such a great vid! Went to the UK once, I LOVE toasted Sandwich! Also, dried out German bread gets eatable again with some butter, slices of tomato and a thick slice of Emmental. 40sec into the micro oven, enjoy!

Hi Lauren, this is not just a great video, but was also a wonderful reminder of the rauch maenchen incident. I laughed so hard I was in tears. Anyway...the bread (and sandwich) looks to be hardy and quite tasty and wholesome. The only thing I can't agree on is the catsup, but that is my personal grievance. I'm boycotting foods that contain corn syrup (CS). Not sure if that brand contains CS in Germany, but here that product is loaded. Regarding your tosts, I think you could easily cause fellow Germans to stray of the "Bauernbrot" path. At least once in a while. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Peter

Hihi, ja das alte Cliché Deutsches Brot. Wird ja tatsächlich immer weniger und die Regale im Supermarkt sind auch gut gefüllt mit Toastbrot. Ich gebe zu, ich mag Sauerteigbrot mit Roggen und so, aber ab und zu nehme ich auch mal Toastbrot mit. Ist doch nicht schlimm. Und Sandwiches mag ich sehr. Und ganz verschiedene, auch Britische! Besonders Welsh Rarebit hat es mir angetan, aber das zählt vielleicht nicht als Sandwich, oder wie ist das? Egal, Hauptsache es schmeckt! 😀

Perhaps it is: "British Toastbreed is for brits and Germany who visit them" ;) Ich habe selbst entferntere Verwandte in Groß Britanien ferner Schottland, nun ist die Kücher dort sicherlich reich an anderen Spezialitäten, von denen einige geschmackstechnisch eine Achterbahnfahrt für einen deutschne Gaumen bedeuten *Hüstel*. Aber es gibt auch einige Gemeinsamkeiten die wohl überall in Großbritanien zu finden sind, etwa Toast und dessen verschiedene Zubereitungsformen, und bis auf ein paar geschmackliche Seltsamkeiten sind die meisten Zubereitungsvarianten sehr lecker :).

Alles gut! Toastbrot ist ja zumindest technisch - im weitesten Sinne - in der Brotfamilie angesiedelt. Jedenfalls das, dass Du da in der komischen 'Maschine' heißgequetschst hast, mit Körnern und so. Wäre es das typisch englische weiße Toastbrot gewesen, hätten wir erheblichen Gesprächsbedarf. Denn das ist ja wohl unstrittig nichts anderes als gebackte Mehlpampe. Und da Deutschland ja quasi Südskandinavien ist, geht die Mütze auch in Ordnung. Keine Beschwerden meinerseits...😂❤🍻
