First of all... very, very sorry for your loss. Second... very, very happy to see you back. Third, this is an excellent review of the Bhopal incident. Fourth, I noticed a difference in your video editing, very nice! Before retiring, I had a career in safety; e.g. personnel, process/operations, and corporate. I would have been very happy and honoured to show this video during a process safety presentation, with your permission, of course. I would have also made my global peers aware of the video for the same purpose, which I am sure they would have the same appreciation. As an employee, I'm not allowed to publish the company that I worked on any type of social media platform. Therefore, I can only say that it rhymed with ExxonMobil. As I say, I'm retired - I don't have to follow corporate policy anymore!

I remember reading about this in a Romanian magazine when I was a child. It was a recent event at the time. Despite not being able to understand much of what had happened, I did understand that many, many people had died a horrific death. DOW is guilty of its own crimes, on top of the "inherited" one at Bhopal. May all the victims and the heroes be remembered for as long as there is memory. I'm sure your father was, and is, very proud of you.

Thank you so much for this video, it's wonderful that you cover such incidents in ALL parts of the world, not just in the Anglosphere. I did the Union Carbide disaster as a case study in uni for the class action suit which resulted. It was the biggest payout of its kind at the time, although not all of it for the benefit of victims (as you pointed out). The corporate liability issues were similar to the PG&E case (which Erin Brocovich investigated). Great video as usual! And a medal for your efforts at pronouncing those names! You nailed it! 🏅 😅 ❤

Absolutely crushed to hear of your loss my friend. Your father has gone to better place & will be with you always. In every way he is why you are you. Seems like he did a fair to decent job. It will get easier. I wish I could be with you to share a pint & sit in silence or whatever you need. Better days ahead keep making him proud with the wonderful content. If you need to perhaps read some bridge poetry. All my best DiD.

Thank you. I do hope so. I just wish I could have shown him and have him understand. I’m just grateful I had my opportunity to say everything that needed to be said before he passed. Whether he understood or even heard me I will never know but it needed to be said anyway. I thanked him for being the most amazing dad I could ever ask for, as well as my best friend. I take a great deal of solace from that. Many sadly do not get that chance.

Those ruddy saboteurs... corroding the pipes, disabling the scrubber and the flare, storing excessive amounts of chemicals in tanks, reducing the pressure in the fire extinguisher... clever how they disguised sabotage as years of poor maintenance and industrial shortcuts! Its a shame no one at union carbide will ever be held accountable. Literally tens of thousands of dead and injured, I can't comprehend how any of those responsible for maintenance cuts can sleep at night.
