Oh man... Brings me back to the old indisputed games where I made a lightweight one shot head kicker and BJ Pen submitting me a thousand times. Maybe they made that a little too realistic.

there was a time period where the UFC really knew how to create household names, names that transcended the world of MMA and made it into the mainstream. These days? not so much. If i were to ask some random non MMA person to name me 3 current champions im not sure they could

That’s such a good point. It feels like the era of mainstream stars like GSP and Anderson Silva is fading, huh? Do you think it’s because of how the UFC promotes now, or is it the fighters themselves not resonating with casual fans?
@mikehunt98846 күн бұрын
@@KombatCapital i blame USADA!! lol just kidding. I don't know its hard to say. could be a combination of fighters inability to promote themselves and the current UFC range of promotion. A lot of what brought the UFC into the mainstream was TUF, but that whole reality show era is kind of over now.
@KombatCapital6 күн бұрын
@@mikehunt9884 You make a solid point, though-it’s probably a mix of things. Fighters who can’t or don’t promote themselves, plus the UFC's approach to promotion, definitely play a role. Talking about USADA, We currently have a documentary in the works about Steroid use and USADA, keep a lookout, this is new news

The R in Royce is pronounced like an H. Like Hoyce Gracie. Pedro Hizzo. Pancrase is pronounces slightly differently as well. Watch some videos of Bas Rutten and listen to his pronounciation of it. Not knowing these things tells me you are too young to know the context of mma real time, however that is not your fault and I commend you for trying to gain context in hindsight. Just some fair feedback for future reference.
@KombatCapital6 күн бұрын
appreciate the feedback! I’ll admit, I’m no Bas Rutten when it comes to pronunciation-though I’m sure he’d have a laugh at my attempts. 😅 Out of curiosity, how did you first get into MMA? Sounds like you’ve been a fan since the OG days

@@KombatCapital I was fortunate to be 15 when UFC 1 first aired. It was very taboo it's first events.

@@GenericKZbinCommenter241 Wow, being 15 when UFC 1 first aired must have been wild! That was back when it was pure chaos-no weight classes, almost no rules, and that "anything goes" vibe. Definitely a taboo event for its time, but also a turning point for combat sports.

“The context of mma real time” I’ve been watching since 30 and that makes no fucking sense
