Revealing the Wood Duck in the First Turn

Good game! Picking up and playing the swallow would probably have been better. Would have maxed out Viticulturalist and gotten a decent amount of tugs from the times you drew cards. Not much you can do about an opponent having that good an engine though.

You are completely right on that. I'm not sure why I top-decked instead of grabbing the Swallow on that turn. I even mentioned in the video that the Swallow would help max Viticulturalist. I then mentioned that I could grab it from tucking with the House Finch, but then I never did. I grabbed cards a number of times after that, so it would have had good value for sure. It's hard to say whether that would have made the difference or not, but it certainly would have helped. Thanks for the feedback.

Watching this I feel like the lack of card access was the thing that slowed you down. Playing the house finch before the noisy miner, then using it to grab and play the tree swallow, might have served you better in the long run. But as your earlier commenter said, that was a rough situation with balletmage having the wood duck and mockingbird. Thanks for sharing the game!

Agreed. That's the path I should have taken, or just taken the Tree Swallow to begin with instead of top-decking. I must have gotten distracted and forgotten about that plan while thinking about other stuff. As always, I appreciate your commentary.
