This one took a bit longer than expected (definitely not because I was playing Baldur's Gate III instead of working on the video). I was going to make a more pride-themed video, but this one talks about Loki, Shadowheart, and Astarion, so... I think I've got the pride month part covered.

Very insightful commentary! In recent years, I have seen arcs like these used only to subvert audience expectations. The examples you described, however, show how they can influence the characters and plot of a story less superficially. Bravo!

I like the way you explore ideas and connect different sections of the video together. Hope you can escape the BG3 black hole

This makes me think a lot of King Canute's arc in Vinland Saga- in the first arc he goes from a cowardly and sheltered Prince to a determined leader seemingly after one hallucination sequence, and it's very similar to what you describe, though Canute more gets a revelation about how the world works in general than a specific fact as is the case in your examples. I'd been confused as to how his development worked so well for me despite being pretty rushed on paper and what you've lined out seems like a good explanation- Canute gets all his sense of security and the only man who's ever loved him and made him feel safe ripped away all at once, so it makes sense that his response to that trauma is a determination to change the world by any means necessary and no matter who he has to dominate to do it

Just wanna say, these videos are great to listen to while I work. Furthermore the topics are good for me to ponder while I write npcs for tabletop games I'm working on as well as ideas for a novel I have. Great work, look forward for the next video yoy make. Thank you.
