All the brilliant moments in these confrontations and I’ve literally just noticed at 1:56 Terry/Davros is mouthing like you know when someone argues you to the point where you just can’t find any words. Terry gives Davros’ frustration in that moment, blink and you’ll miss it but Davros goes from triumphant to arrested in such quick time. His arguments are brushed away, the grey Daleks don’t recognise The Doctor. He’s taken away like a child summoned to bed. And he wants to say something that will reassert his power but there is absolutely nothing he can do or say so you have the movement to form words but nothing is said, it’s quite brilliant.

It actually makes sense when you consider the fact that skaro had a work class system of daleks. After they were destroyed and all chain of command besides the emperor with the daleks was lost. They became severally impulsively and fearful without any sense of actual plan or direction. I think the emperor actually became insane long before his God like ideologies came into play.

I feel this episode is actually very underrated and under appreciated it’s a very clever story around the premise of politics, lies, dictatorship, manipulation and deceit. By far the best part of this story is Terry Molloy as Davros. His line delivery is impeccable and he has good chemistry with the 6th doctor. However the one part I cannot forgive in this story is the Dalek voices. They are so bad. Not due to the voice actor himself but the lack of modulation so they sound mostly like someone shouting really loudly xx

This was made 9 years after Genesis of the Daleks...but the fact that it was shot on video as opposed to film makes it seem lower quality. They weren't spending enough money on the show. Davros looks bigger than the original Michael Wisher one

Very noticeable is the fact that more often than not when the dalek props appeared on screen they remained pretty much inanimate objects , their limbs rarely moved at all, other than a bit of gliding about and the odd head swivel that's all we got, watch practically any dalek episode and it holds true. The gun and arms were designed to move in all directions but remain rigid eye stalks rarely moved either, it's a shame the operators did not make them move about more to make them more convincing

Interesting that the Daleks would willingly accept Davros's mutants as the whole point of the Daleks was to exterminate anything that wasn't originally Kaled. Then again, they probably wanted more cannon fodder.

I've never seen the episode but I thought the daleks were arresting him for trying to make the new daleks, which he tried before in resurrection where the "renegades" (the originals who should really be the imperials) ordered them to be exterminated, and again in remembrance where it was all out race war.

@@bangerbangerbro No, in Resurrection Davros tampers with "pure" Daleks to make them loyal, and then escapes when the Dalek ship is blown up. Somewhere between that and Revelations he goes to war with the Daleks, and thus starts creating his own Daleks that are non-Kaled and loyal to him. After Revelations he's taken back to Skaro, but somehow ends up taking over, which leads to the pure Daleks being Renegades and whatever Davros has created being Imperials.

The Dalek Handbook states that the Imperial Daleks that Davros created on Necros (the ones that survive the explosion at the end of Revelation) were taken back to Skaro due to a shortage of dalek troops caused by the Movellan virus, the effects of which we saw in Resurrection. This process failed and the Imperial Daleks gained control of Skaro with Davros as their Emporer, forcing the Supreme Dalek and those loyal to him (now the Renegade Daleks) to flee, thus setting up the events of Rememberance.

Daleks literally 2 meters apart can't hit each other, but one dude just appears in the distance shooting and gets instantly shot in the cross fire. Storm troopers don't seem that bad at shooting anymore.

There's a hesitation, no matter which side they're on. As if harming another of their kind is an antithesis to what it "means" to be a dalek in the first place

The one thing I found a bit odd with this scene, as well as Revelation's in general is; there is no "deep" sounding Dalek, like the ones in Resurrection and Remembrance - I understood Genesis since they were at the "beginning" but I always found it odd. Still, worth a watch all the same - Terry does an excellent job as Davros!

Actually, the Necrosian Daleks (Davro’s Daleks) were supposed to sound like that. The director wanted them to sound more human because they were converts. I love how he puts in that detail then doesn’t make the grey Daleks sound normal so you can hear a difference. Smh.

I recognize and I appreciate Dr. WHO fans. However, it is a Syfy series that I never could quite get into. To be fair, I never liked any Syfy series or movies. Maybe it's because my parents would take me to spooky scary outer space and alien movies in the 1950s and some of them scared the jumping bejeezus out of me and gave me nightmares. One, in particular, was Forbidden Planet with the ID monster and another was This Island Earth with the hideous mutant monsters - but there were others I didn't like too. So, the Daleks, and Davros seemed just plain idiotic and cartoonish to me - like a puppet or marionette show. The squished fish guts, octopus-tentacled, one-eyed or two-eyed Kaled mutant inside of a Dalek and the Supreme Dalek as a giant mutated brain tumor mass, that was the central brain - made me laugh out loud. And for my lack of respect, I know I would be "EXTERMINATED" and my juicy juice siphoned by a Dalek! Like I mentioned - I just don't get the series popularity.
