Wow, every time I see you use those paints I am so impressed. The way the light bounces off the Aztec pattern but still shows the white is just awesome. You have it down just right buddy. Like the movie the far away shots look like a solid ship of white but when the camera zooms in you see all the detail with the patterns of Aztec. Perfect.

Man!! That looks awesome. Like I've said before I love how this ship looks. I love how you did the blues on this. Very nice indeed!

The paints do work great. The masks do too. It's a nice system and time wise not bad at all.

Boyd, your work-rate is amazing. I'm always impressed how much you get done in each video and the fact that your videos are just a couple of days apart usually! I imagine being a professional in the auto body business is an asset to "knowing how to get things done". Amazing work!

I think Brett designed the masks from the way they are shown in the instruction book of the kit. As far as the colors go, it's my own interpretation. I wanted to make it look different than the color patterns of the Refit I did. It's hard to get a good look at the screen accurate colors and pattern from either movie as they really never give us a very clear look at it.

The model was painted and then I went back and filled in the seams and painted them again. This all has to be before the aztec colors can be applied.

TrekWorks just got my model ready to build. Got a stupid question, at what point do you put in the window lenses during painting? How do you stop them getting sprayed??

Hi Boyd, the model is looking beautiful. Those cosmic colors you used for the ship and the pearlescent Aztec patterns, what type are they, lacquers, enamels, acrylics? Thanks for sharing!

Does Mckensies ship their paints overseas Smus? Someone else asked about that and I haven't checked if they do.

Hi Guys, The saucer aztec is screen accurate. I wasn't too happy with the kit provided pattern. On the E-hull it's highly randomized hull plating & the nacelles are very close to screen accurate. Unless it's a pattern that's completely fictional like the TOS aztecs. I always go as close to screen accurate as possible

As always. All I can say is you're doing a great job, it's really coming together. I'm curious about the Aztec pattern, if it's screen accurate or is it a modified version. As far as this particular model goes I think this Aztec kit looks good on it.

Hey Boyd, just curious (apologies if its been mentioned before and missed it), is there a reason you decided to paint this ship almost fully constructed rather than in sub-assemblies?
