Dear Alex As you know I'm a massive fan of yours with your inspired interpretation your artestry and unbelievable skill. There is one area I am not with and that is your choice of music for your videos is not to my taste so I just leave mute on and there is no problem. Unfortunately I was slow to put mute on and my wife heard your music which she loved. She now dances around the house to your music and has lost 2kgs so I am now stuck with your music so it's modelling with a smile! MrD53

Great idea on using graphite on the interior of the exhaust. On my Hunter I took ages doing many passes of varying colours. Yet yours look just as great, if not better, as mine. Great tip that will be remembered. My kit had flaws with the wing end pieces needing a huge amount of sanding to then fit properly. I did not do a great job on it. Wish I had done better. Hi Alex Nice bit of modelling. A couple of things. The Hunters main canopy had no framing on the rear of the canopy. So when you masked it off you shouldn’t have bothered with the rear. The other thing is did you notice the sink marks on the bottom of the leading edge on both sides. Just thought I’d mention those two.

Great build again Alex. Thank you. At 33.08 I spotted a little oversight when you removed the tape and tack. You corrected this later which got me thinking; did you brush this or did you air brush it ? Then Another thought came to me - more related to me - I don't possess an airbrush. It would be awesome if you do a build, hand paint it and give us "unequipped" guys a masterclass in brush techniques please ? I am trying to interest my kid to this passtime and I myself have never done airbrushing. I also last did modelling 2 decades ago so greatly out of practice so rediscovering the hobby.

LOVELY kit on a simple yet elegant aircraft. I didn't know about that LIQUID GRAVITY product. But what about that transparent glue that you used to keep the bullets on place? Is is a glue specific for that tool (the bullets) or can we used any other. I missed some image on the final result on the extra weight for balance to the nose. And how about that "riveter" for panel lines? Is it one model only or are there several depending on the distance between the rivets and the size of these? And a question in dealing with the black cote prior to the paint as such: is it the same effect using a black primer as black paint? I guess that it is not, right? I always learn something new every time that I watch your videos.
@AlexModeling4 жыл бұрын
Hello!:) Primer is always a bit thicker than the Paint to unify the surface . As for glue are you referring to microscale liquitape? Its a liquidez adesiv... It works on a way that you can glue and um glue some parts. Sometines its handy to do that

Wonderful build. I wonder why some hunters are medium sea grey and others are natural metal? Why did you use tamiya olive green instead of UK dark green on the fuselage,? Also, revell used to make a 1/144 scale Hunter to park next to this one. It was a fun build as well.
@AlexModeling5 жыл бұрын
Ones are metal others are light grey. The same what german F104 s are light grey metálic and others just grey.
@AlexModeling5 жыл бұрын
I tens to use lighter color. When you apply the wash and the weathering you make that light tone darker... You just have to know when to stop. Its easy o darken a tone. Not lighten it

Great build. 👍👍 Like you, I’m not a fan of big/wide/deep panel lines. I recently purchased my first AirFix kits. It’s a 4 pack of 1/72 WWII fighters (Zero, Spitfire, Me-109 and Warhawk). I have only opened the Zero, and so far am extremely disappointed with the panel lines because they are monstrous, but I really don’t feel like filling and re-scribing them, so I think I’m just going to accept it and see how bad the judges ding me for it, if at all before I tackle the next kit. I did notice that you missed the seam line on the “dash” in front of the HUD. 🤓😜 We always miss something though.... right? 🤡🤪 I’ve never seen the ‘Micro Liquid Tape’ before. Does that release the parts easier than PVA, because sometimes I find it a little bit of a pain to get the PVA to let go without taking a bit of paint with it.

Hello Alex, me again... I was wondering if there is a reason why you always seem to use the airbrush without the protection cap at the tip ?

No! No reason at all! I never put a model and never use AB on an angle that can make me have an acident! However, we should always use our cap... Its just a "thing".. a wrong one on my part! Thank you!
@danytalloen3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexModeling Thank you for you answer Alex, however, I do think you have misunderstood my question, or maybe have formulated it wrong ; I was not asking about the cap that closes the paint recepient, I was refering to that little cap thing at the very tip of the AB, the one that protects the needle.
@AlexModeling3 жыл бұрын
Oh! Language barreier Sorry! Sometimes when i want to have the needle tip at hands to BE cleaned i do it! Some paints build a fast "plástic" membrane and cloughs the AB. With the cap removed i have better acess to it... At least i like to think i have🙂🙂👍

Hey Alex, another great build from you! I enjoyed watching it. Since you come across as a friendly and helpful guy in all of your videos, may I ask you a question? I'm planning to paint a BF 109 K in the 'Amberg 1945' camouflage scheme. That means mottling.. I just can't seem to get the mottling to work on my airbrush setup. I currently only own a Iwata Neo. My cheap 0.15 no name airbrush got destroyed. I can't get the paint/ pressure combination right. I use paints from AK Interactive. Very good paints out of the box, I usually thin them for mottling, but when I try to use the thinned AK paints at 0.9 bars from very close in the Iwata Neo (as needed for mottling in 1/72) it's just a big mess. The paint comes out way too thin and just spreads on a big scale, not sticking to the surface in small dots, like it should for mottling. Can you please give me advice? I have watched tutorials, but the airbrush setup or scale were so different that I can't copy the results 😔Thanks a lot in advance mate.

@AlexModeling5 жыл бұрын
The decals were actually a pain.and there arn t any gaps because Revell engenierd this kit very well... The black line you Saw is the result of the was flowing through the wing Roots and i don t know what is it with modelers that if they are a line beetween wing Roots they always go... (Sean line!) And sometimes that is not the fact... Admiring this build but with one possibly controversial pointer, I’m working on the theory you’re making this look as authentic as possible. My point is why do the majority of modellers insist in infilling all panel lines in black! It’s way to heavy and dark and if anything is the one thing that ruins a otherwise brilliant model. Having worked on real aircraft for some 20 + yrs I’ve never seen big black lines around each panel, sure there is a perceptible difference but not black.
@AlexModeling2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your input! Apreciate it! I use black because, i have to account for the size and light reflection factor. At this size (the model) If i don t do it, looks like a "toy" but If i do it looks probably not as correct as in real life.. im just trying to be as close as i can from both without looking exagerated

Your airbrushing leaves a lot to be worked on. Spattering and way too high a preasure. An airbrushed line should not have those blast marks. Should be clean and atomised as it hits the model. Sloppy? Yes. Good airbrush? No. You tend to flood the model. Better to light coat and work over many times. I can't stand how you just pile the paint down. Get some technique before posting these vids. Sorry but true.
