Revell 1/72 Scale F4U-1A Corsair - Video by Model Minutes

Developed in the late 1930's & early 1940's, the F4U corsair was designed to use the largest aero-engine available at the time. Having to use a large propeller to make the most of the enormous 2000hp from the Pratt & Whitney double wasp radial engine resulted in the distinctive gull-wing appearance of the aircraft, which gave enough clearance for the propeller whilst on the ground.

Fun fact. The Royal navy fleet Air arm had these on their carriers before the Americans did and it was royal navy pilots who instructed us navy pilots on how to land these on the carriers.

I'm just getting started, and have decided to use basic craft acrylic's to paint with. I'm not worried about historical accuracy, but use that artistic license as part of the joy in the process.

Hey dude! The model is pretty awesome. Nevertheless, there's something that bugs me very much: why hand painting? I mean, the work done with cockpit really acceptable as well as blue coat over the top but I think there's a chance to improve painting the white and gray. Wouldn't it be better using airbrush for any and all? Kudos!
