I just bought my F4 Corsair in 1/72 after deliberating and analyzing from among the Revell's 1/32 and 1/48. I had the 1/32 long ago, about almost 40 years and at that time, was a hit. Today, I think differently and resulted for me an extremely large and lack of detail model. About the 1/48, it's an authentic very poor ballpark. The more I watched pics and videos the better so, I decided to go for the 1/72 new kit from 2014 Revell Germany. This video results for me a helpful guide. The outcome of this model is absolutely outstanding. The quality of modelling of Roplast Models is beyond words. I can watch the video over and over. Thank you so much. Please keep up the excellent work, in fact, I think you should be awarded by Revell for promoting the excellent model with the superior work of yours.

End opening kit box. Bet that was a bummer. Takes a huge hunk of joy out of the hobby.

Hello, really nice build! I did the same kit from the box few months back as my second kit after too many years. I had some issues to make the piece in front of the cockpit to fit properly (piece A39) the initial result was close to what we can see on Revell's pics. I tried to fix it with sprue goo but it was not a success at all. After lots of sanding I managed a result that is not that good (thanks to the dark color to hide it a bit). How did you manage to make it fit? Did you sand it?

Thanks for your kind words. I don't recall having to much trouble fitting that part, but for sure, a little sanding was involved :).

The wing tips assembly you found curious is because on the same kit base there's a WW2 British Royal Navy version with shorter ones on a separate sprue. So you don't have to cut and shorten the wings as it's necessary on other kits

I got this kit and was going to build it. But let me ask how do you deal with the parts where you need to prime, paint before moving on to the next build instruction. Did this kit take you multiple days (weeks?) or did you prime/paint in less than 24 hours? Stuff like the wheel wells for instance.

Hey, I prime and paint parts before gluing, no problem - you must be careful when "welding" the plastic, not to ruin the paint. I didn't make any kits in less than 24 hours, I prime the model, I wait at least 12 hours, then I paint it, varnish it, decals, varnish again, weathering and then the final varnish. This takes time, if you don't have a dye oven, days. Good luck and have fun with your build!

Very beautiful build ! Am I the only one to be bothered by the big mistake Revell did on the inner wings : there are six shell ejection holes for planes with six 50 caliber and in this late f4u4 version with four 20 mm cannons, there should be only four shell ejection holes only !!! I know Revell made the two versions from the same kit but it would have been more accurate to make an early f4u4 version with six 50 caliber instead ...

What type of Tamiya white you use: gloss or matt?

F4U4 were not used in WW2 but Korea. The markings are for a reserve squadron in the states. You cannot make a British version of this air craft . WW2 versions were F4U1D and FG1 (both late versions in the war. Good job on the aircraft
