If you enjoyed building this race car, I'd recommend the new Tamiya Mercedes Benz AMG GT3 with some Studio 27 decals. It's a fantastic kit.

Hello. What's the pourpose of making lines with the marker? Thanks
@maddoctor996 жыл бұрын
What purpose did the Eddings marker at the beginning have?
@TheScalemodelingChannel6 жыл бұрын
It helps to show the mold lines, and also shows when they are removed, black marker gone, so is the moldline

What's the purpose of doing the marker and sanding in the beginning?
@TheSgenua6 жыл бұрын
Marker shows the high points/molding lines or just to highlight areas that he wants to sand down smooth. If you look at the areas he is sanding they are areas that do not have breaks in the body panel.

Exactly right, i had to learn as well, trust his comment. It makes for a very better more highly detailed paint job. I just only use white primmer of choice because things catch my eye better with white primmer.

@dans55956 жыл бұрын
what is the purpose of the sanding after the initial primer coat? what is the plastic "nub" on the roof, and why did you wait until after priming to sand it off?
@TheScalemodelingChannel6 жыл бұрын
To make the base for the paint to lay on as smooth as possible. So that the overall finish in the end would be smoother. I did not now it needed to be removed on this version until after the first primer layer

Does anyone know the difference between the revell kit he used, and the 85-4304 Corvette C7.R kit that revell has? Besides the fact that the 85-4303 kit is molded in white, doesn't have color instructions and comes in the shoebox style box? The difference between the black revell boxes and the shoebox style revell boxes has always confused me, and I'm wondering if the aftermarket kit for this kit would work with the other style of kit as well. It seems like the only difference is being molded in white, seeing as they both have the same end result and the same number of parts.
@TheScalemodelingChannel5 жыл бұрын
the molded color is different and the decal sheet is of a higher quality in the German black box versions. Otherwise an identical kit, the upgrade set works for both.

Been trying out Zero Paints and just cant get it to work. I know im supposed to put light color coats down and mine isnt even half as heavy as you are laying them down, still it wrinkles every here and there and some areas on the metallic colors looks foggy, like the flakes gathers more dense. Tried waiting up to 20 minutes between coats but its still a a struggle. what am i doing wrong?
@TheScalemodelingChannel7 жыл бұрын
Maybe its to cold. Maybe the paint is not mixed well enough. Have you used primer?
@bitterbitterbitter7 жыл бұрын
The Scalemodeling Channel yes i used tamiya fine primer and paint was well mixed and painted in normal room temp. Somehow it just feels like the second layer of paint "eats" the first one, even on light coats.
@TheScalemodelingChannel7 жыл бұрын
How long did you leave the primer to dry? Tamiya has different drying times than zero. You can’t paint zero on tamiya as that you can paint zero on zero
@bitterbitterbitter7 жыл бұрын
waited 24hrs every time. as soon as the coat im putting on just gets a tad wet it looks like the metallics start moving and it almost looks burnt.
@TheScalemodelingChannel7 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t know what you are doing wrong then. Still seems like you aply it to thick from what you are telling me.

A noob question: what's the point of painting the car's body in silver and the cover it up in white?
@TheScalemodelingChannel6 жыл бұрын
To prevent the yellow plastic color from bleesing through the white paint and make it cream or with yellow splatches

Thank you.

Amazing work as always, I really want to try a kit with decals like that some day Can you reccommend any cheap kits with decals that wrap around for a intermediate level builder? I feel like a break from painting Gundam but I know normal model kits are more complicated to put together
