What happens when you spray 2K Clear Over it? How about a water based acrylic clear?
What about adding a wash? Is there a better option than Tamiya Panel Liner for adding a wash to parts sprayed with Revell Chrome Spray?
Can I paint onto it? What should I use?
Is Frank angry, or disappointed?
All of these questions have been answered and more in this final, exhaustive installment on my exploration and experimentation with Revell Chrom (that's actually how they spell it on the can) Spray.
I used to use Model master Metalizers to paint chromed parts, but thanks to Pat ‪@cardzscaledreams3917‬ , I'll now be using Tamiya's acrylics, as a direct result of watching this video:

Great tutorial! Pretty much all my questions are answered. I will not ask you to decant Revell chrome. I figured if you want good results do it the way you show. Thanks for sharing.

Future polish became Pledge which has now been discontinued. Quick shine is a new equivalent. Great video Frank thanks 😎👍

This was great! Watched several parts over. Because chrome is a mystery. Somewhat demystified now. Tamiya panel liner, agree. Interesting stuff. All I had growing up was flat black Testers and thinner. Panel liner works good on HO bodies and small die cast...that wont be judged and likely crashed. haha. Tried Tamiya chrome in a can, very thin, would have taken many coats. You have given me ideas. Thanks Frank! and btw, thanks for the chuckles along the way, yes I did make it to this point, so letting you know.....and yeah, about 13 when my parents offered me a drink. Think I got the same disappointed speech. 👍😆😎

I made it to the part where you said I'm a glutton for punishment.😂 I have to get to bed, I work super early. But I'll get back to finish. Some great tips, Frank. I don't do a lot of re-chroming, but I'd like to. So, it's great to see the testing/results. I appreciate the shoutout as well.

On my first model (the mercedes c9) I got burned by the panel line brush as well. I now use (like you) a small brush and then if there's a little too much I wipe off the brush on a towel/paper towel and then go back and soak up the excess on the part with the brush. For actual panel lines on the body, I use a panel line pen (you dip it in the panel line fluid first) and it works amazing (UStar ua-90223). Start at the top, press down, and it runs right through the line. Great tips as always Frank!

Totally enjoy the videos and the effort that goes into everything you do, Frank. I'm wondering if Future floor wax (or whatever the equivalent is called these days) would be another option for a clear overcoat? I thought I read something about using it in one the model car forums, but have yet to see actual results like those that you have presented. Maybe give that a go and report back on the durability?

I don’t trust the bottle of Future I do have, and to be honest, I can’t afford to keep destroying kit parts and photoetch sets. The Revell Chrome Spray is resilient enough for normal handling (final assembly), and that’s good enough for me. Regardless of the clear used, there was a marked loss of luster and brilliance of the Revell Chrome when it was applied.
