@MegaAirsoft97 Thanks! this is a great little kit and it´s also really cheap so go get one. Oh and it´s a well-known fact that every aircraft modeler must have a red triplane in his collection, so there is no excuse not to have one !

Very very nice work. I have the same kit in my stash but am planning on doing it as someone other than a Richtoffens mount. Excellent work.

you know i wasn't going to go to town tomorrow, but after seeing this I have to get this plane and paint it exactly like this, this is an incredibly beautiful model :)

@2002And Thanks :o) WWI models are great fun, rigging can be a bit tricky but the final model is (usually) worth the effort ! You can´t go wrong with this kit, it´s easy to put together and with some work it will be a nice addition to your collection.

Nice, I enjoy building this one. The pre shading looks great, I'm about to build another one, I will try this. May I recommend a dusting of the model with a dry brush and charcoal shades. instead of a weathering wash try dusting with the darker shades of charcoal into the seams. Build another one and try it right on top of the dull coat. I just finished one and wish I could show you. Thanks mate

@tankman13p66 Thanks tankman! I also liked how the propeller came out ;o) regarding your question, as I understand it, the tires of WWI planes were made of natural latex which gave them (approximately) a light-gray colour ; black synthetic rubber came into use only after WWI. But it´s true that the gray I used was a bit too light, next time I´ll use a darker shade.

Wow! Brilliant work, again! I know what you mean about the 1/72 PE, I put an Eduard cockpit in a Revell P-47 and some of the control levers were ridiculously small. I can see why they sometimes give you several.... ping!

Great video and model :) I've built the Sopwith F-1 Camel and a few other WW1 aircraft but I would quite like to build a few more. I haven't built this kit so this might be my next :) Awesome end result!

Was thinking of painting it as the mount of Karl Willhelm Schultz. A fictional Luftstreitkräfte pilot from the unfinished '686 squadron' series of books. Mabe a whole series of his aircraft, Fokker EIII, Albatross DIII, Fokker DR1 and Fokker DV

@MakingModelsAgain Thanks again! One of my latest acquisitions is Eduard´s La-7 in 1:72, it comes with an extremely nice prepainted PE set for the cockpit; I was very excited about using it but after this experience with the Spandaus, well, I´m not as excited anymore

@Shooterkek First I applied a coat of wooden colour enamel (Testors) and when this was thoroughly dry I "drybrushed" with burnt umber oil paint, this helps to recreate the wooden texture.

What did you use for the pre shading and what was your technique? I’m just starting this hobby and this is my first set
@AinKrab5 жыл бұрын
I have it. However I only used the colours the starter set came with since it was my first model

Excellent model. I don't particularly like 1/72 scale because the models come out too small thus preventing good detailing. 1/48 is much better.
