Or Fw 190, Ta 152, ANY BRITISH BOMBER APART FROM LANCASTER (Wellington, Halifax, etc.), any American bomber apart from the B-17 (B-24 as a heavy bomber, or B-25 and B-26 as medium bombers), no Do 335, no Gloster Meteor, no italian fighters like the Fiat G.55 Centauro or Macchi Mc 202 Folgore, no Soviet planes apart from the Yak-3 (like Il-2 Sturmovick or Il-4), LITERALLY SO MANY THINGS WERE MISSING AHHHHHH!!! Why was the P-51 chrome? Also the bell jet but literally half of the German planes and almost all British planes are missing. What about the P-38, Mosquito, Fw-190. I also argue the 163 doesn't count because it's not sustained speed it's a glider after the rocket burns out. If you count the 163 than you need to count the V2.

You make the 3D models and give them to their team. You're literally asking them to add dozens of hours to production.

@@Captain_Deadstick The p51 was chrome because when they were making it, the skies were already controlled, so they didnt need to paint their planes, samw with late bombers, like b29. Btw, me 163 its rocket fuelled, but still a fighter jet... So, modern fighter jets are orbital space crafts or fighter jets...?

@@mutingp F4u is so underrated. Usually naval aircraft underperform compared to their land based counterparts due to the demands of carrier operations and other considerations for operations in a marine environment but the Corsair was truly one of very few aircraft that was as good as the best land based aircraft. Keep in mind in US service the F4u was the last WWII fighter aircraft to be withdrawn from service in 1953 and globally you see the Corsair and Mustang both serving into the 1980s in some countries.

Nice comparison, however, its important to note that none of these planes could reach those speeds at sea level these vmax speeds were measured at high altitude in thin air. Also many of these planes had variations over the years with very different performance. Cruise speeds would also be interesting, because as far as i know the B-17s generally flow at 300-350 km/h in formations (instead of the theoretical vmax)

Nice video it was interesting to see the comparisons, it would've been better though if you specified which variation of aircraft is depicted since there are many that look similar to each other but perform differently. Also probably should have used the accurate top speed at sea level since these planes all had different top speeds depending on altitude. For example the f4f wildcat while perhaps reaching 512kmh at optimum altitude of around 6.5km could only reach around 450kmh at sea level so the comparisons are a bit off in relation to the background. Really nice animation though and cool video concept.

Really a very original presentation. I loved it, despite that a lot of important planes are missing (FW-190) and that some of the ones shown got much faster as they were updated throughout the war (latest Spitfire marks, for example). 9/10 👍🛫

Good for a chuckle. Picking speeds of the introduction models for some, upgraded production models for others and leaving out some.

Puts in a Yak-3 not Yak-1 but just calls the Spitfire a spitfire. The Mk-XII spitfire would dust a Yak-3.

That was a MK. 1 Spitfire right... Not one of the later much faster MK18+ with a Griffin engine... Is it a equal playing field... Are they all MK 1 planes, if not, some readjusting is necessary... Good work though ❤

The most annoying part of this video is that he didnt even include the variants. A 109B model is going to be slow as shit while a 109G is going to be almost twice as fast...And same thing with the Spitfires (Mk1 vs Griffin-powered Mk 14)

Is this top speed or normal cruise speed or taking into account weight? Because I looked up the B17 and its normal speed is 300kmph and its top speed is around 400kmph? It seems odd that a 4 engine heavy bomber with all that drag and carrying all those heavy bombs/equipment could reach 500kmph, faster than some way more agile aircraft from the same time period...

There is always a max altitude , were the planes reach their max speed . This big bombers got their max speed pretty high up , lower they got too much drag .

The clip is very unspecific, not mentioning which version it describes. For example, first A6M Zeroes had a cruising speed of ca. 500 km/h. The one on the movie is probably the latest one - A6M5 (first, widely produced was A6M2). Same goes for Spitfires, which had over 14 versions, and Me/Bf 109s, which had at least 7 versions. I don't have such in-depth knowledge, to judge all the planes, but please be specific in the future, especially in the era of online games, which try to be pretty acurate with the technicalities.

Mainly Korean War and Vietnam War next. It should be remembered as highly successful as Mig-21 is; it's Mig-19 that's actually faster. Afterwards, they can focus on other conflicts like the Suez Crisis and Battle of the Falkland Islands. Or focus on more specific jet families like Mirage.
