Or Fw 190, Ta 152, ANY BRITISH BOMBER APART FROM LANCASTER (Wellington, Halifax, etc.), any American bomber apart from the B-17 (B-24 as a heavy bomber, or B-25 and B-26 as medium bombers), no Do 335, no Gloster Meteor, no italian fighters like the Fiat G.55 Centauro or Macchi Mc 202 Folgore, no Soviet planes apart from the Yak-3 (like Il-2 Sturmovick or Il-4), LITERALLY SO MANY THINGS WERE MISSING AHHHHHH!!! Why was the P-51 chrome? Also the bell jet but literally half of the German planes and almost all British planes are missing. What about the P-38, Mosquito, Fw-190. I also argue the 163 doesn't count because it's not sustained speed it's a glider after the rocket burns out. If you count the 163 than you need to count the V2.

@@Captain_Deadstick The p51 was chrome because when they were making it, the skies were already controlled, so they didnt need to paint their planes, samw with late bombers, like b29. Btw, me 163 its rocket fuelled, but still a fighter jet... So, modern fighter jets are orbital space crafts or fighter jets...?

@@mutingp F4u is so underrated. Usually naval aircraft underperform compared to their land based counterparts due to the demands of carrier operations and other considerations for operations in a marine environment but the Corsair was truly one of very few aircraft that was as good as the best land based aircraft. Keep in mind in US service the F4u was the last WWII fighter aircraft to be withdrawn from service in 1953 and globally you see the Corsair and Mustang both serving into the 1980s in some countries.

The clip is very unspecific, not mentioning which version it describes. For example, first A6M Zeroes had a cruising speed of ca. 500 km/h. The one on the movie is probably the latest one - A6M5 (first, widely produced was A6M2). Same goes for Spitfires, which had over 14 versions, and Me/Bf 109s, which had at least 7 versions. I don't have such in-depth knowledge, to judge all the planes, but please be specific in the future, especially in the era of online games, which try to be pretty acurate with the technicalities.

Nice comparison, however, its important to note that none of these planes could reach those speeds at sea level these vmax speeds were measured at high altitude in thin air. Also many of these planes had variations over the years with very different performance. Cruise speeds would also be interesting, because as far as i know the B-17s generally flow at 300-350 km/h in formations (instead of the theoretical vmax)

Is this top speed or normal cruise speed or taking into account weight? Because I looked up the B17 and its normal speed is 300kmph and its top speed is around 400kmph? It seems odd that a 4 engine heavy bomber with all that drag and carrying all those heavy bombs/equipment could reach 500kmph, faster than some way more agile aircraft from the same time period...

That's what happens when author watched too many hollywood films :-) I can see only ONE soviet aircraft among this strange set of planes, when Russia had tens of kinds of aircrafts fighting against nazis aircrafts. Author has zero knowledge who had to fight against nazis the most in Europe. WW2 started in 1939, in 1941 nazis started war against Soviet Union. And only in 1944 America decided that it's time to take part in the final stage of war in EUROPE when soviets where crushing nazis on their way to Berlin. Author is just a biased clown. If you want show how fast where American aircrafts just give the video ANOTHER title.

And your Soviet propaganda made you believe that you would have won the war without the USA. Without the bombing you would have lost the war, the maximum would have been a draw, but only if Germany had acted even more stupidly than it already did

In the early morning light, they roared across the sky, Shadows on the horizon, eagles flying high. From fields of green in England, to the Pacific's shore, Brave souls in their warplanes, heading off to war. Wings of steel and hearts of fire, Through the storm, they climb higher. In the battle's thunder, hear their engines scream, Warplanes in the sky, chasing freedom's dream. Dogfights over Europe, in the blazing sun, Ace pilots in their Spitfires, the fight had just begun. In the cold Siberian winds, the Yak-9 took its stand, With courage and conviction, they defended their homeland. Wings of steel and hearts of fire, Through the storm, they climb higher. In the battle's thunder, hear their engines scream, Warplanes in the sky, chasing freedom's dream. From Pearl Harbor's ashes to Berlin's final night, B-17s and Lancasters, a relentless, valiant flight. On the decks of carriers, Corsairs took to the sky, Heroes in their warbirds, never questioned why. In the dust of desert sands, the P-40 flew, With the Flying Tigers, they turned the skies to blue. Over Iwo Jima’s beaches, the Mustangs cleared the way, For the hope of peace tomorrow, they fought the war today. Wings of steel and hearts of fire, Through the storm, they climb higher. In the battle's thunder, hear their engines scream, Warplanes in the sky, chasing freedom's dream. So remember those who flew, where angels fear to tread, Warplanes of World War II, and the blood that they shed. In the quiet of the evening, as the sun begins to fall, Raise a glass to the pilots, who gave their all.

A shame there's no Gloster Meteor, de Havilland Hornet, Westland Welkin, C-54 Skymaster, FW190, Hawker Tempest, N1K2-Ja, Ki-84, B-26 Marauder, and B-29 Superfortress.

No Meteor yet you have the Bell , no Mossy either, no way B17 done 311mph in level flight 290 at most without a bomb load, as for BF 109 near 400 I don't think unless at higher altitudes . other than this great work .

No Mosquito? No MKVII Spitfire? 🤔 oh and why the hate for the hurricane? All other aircraft were rendered beautifully, yet the hurricane looked like an after thought. Other than that, a great video. 👍🏻

WWII planes = Muscle cars of the 60s and 70s --> hardened steel and sex appeal Korean Planes = 80s cars --> that awkward phase in life where nothing really looks or feels right Vietnam Era = 90s performance cars --> technology is catching up with our dreams Post Desert Storm = Modern cars --> it takes a degree in mechanical engineering just to find the dipstick let alone change a filter

I don't entirely agree with the Korean War planes comparison. F-86 Sabre, Mig-15, Hawker Sea Fury, F7F Tigercat, and A-1 Skyraider look legit cool. If we include any airplane that was intended for Korea but didn't get the chance, then there's the F9F-8 Cougar, FJ-2 Fury, F4D Skyray, and A-3 Skywarrior. I also like how Sea Venom and Sea Vixen look even if kept out of the Korean War.
