@@ingenieroriquelmecagardomo4067 These are actually confirmed to be Jove, or at least of Jove origin. Veniel, a Jove, explicitly called them as such in Inheritance. The Sleepers are a splinter group of the Stasis People (Static subfaction that focused on preserving knowledge, and made extensive use of cryostatics and virtual environments) that separated from the Second Jove Empire shortly before its collapse and relocated to Anoikis. Anoikis is also the Jove name for wormhole space. There's a reason most of the Stasis People's enclaves went missing from Heaven during the Shrouded Days. Unlike their fellows, the Sleepers further developed their virtual tech to the point they created entire worlds that existed within their hives. The Drifters are rogue infomorphs (sapient data that was considered taboo by the mainline Jove) that hijacked control of Jove/Sleeper technology for their own uses.

Every expansion, I know of, became twisted by the players into something very nasty. Players would manipulate any expansion goals into something horrific. Take how warp bubbles were twisted into unavoidable mid-system traps.
