Yo Max!! Great stuff as usual. Wanted to bring up the idea about renaming a new add to the team “Nice” in honor of your favorite word😂
@maxplayscfb17 сағат бұрын
Ok so my initial plan was to make Joe Maldonado “Joe Nice” but then I started saying his name out loud and I was like dang, that’s a sick name So my current plan is to make one of the fast recruits on our board “nice” if we can land one of them!

You could always go the Bengal route and “sell for content” lmfao. I think the vids are great. I would say probably just keep the schedule tough and adjust sliders to keep the game as balanced as possible

I really like Semonza. Fast enough to make a play when needed with a good arm. Blowouts for me mean bring out the strange plays or the new plays we wanna try out. I’ll watch to the end either way as always!

Hey Max. just a heads up, in one of my dynasties when I mass subbed my redshirts got put in and I didn't know it. so they got wasted on the bench a year without being redshirted.

What you're doing in dead time is a start. I am also a fan of "Not the Expert" and the way he makes it about the players in dead time I think is a valuable lesson. He runs more of a drama about the brand but I doubt your audience is the 'younger' CF25 players, so you probably shouldn't follow examples of the types who cater to them.

Good points. I think the best I can do is set drive specific goals that still keep it engaging. “Can we score only on runs here” “can we use some form of motion on every snap”

This defense is insane! 15 sacks?! I vote we dub Maldonado as Joey 5 Star haha. Go Ball State! #chirpchirp

I watch the whole video, start to finish, because the content appeals to me (the rebuild and ‘rags to riches’ concept). It’s cool to see players you recruit take the field and I don’t mind seeing every play, even in blowouts. Feel like your passion and genuine excitement for each player shines through in your videos too, which is infectious to me as the viewer. Algo wise though, if it’s hurting your numbers, I personally think you’d be fine to skip to recruiting in blowouts. I do think you’d have to be careful in where you draw the line though, as from past videos, we’ve seen you throw away big leads (sorry!) and would hate to miss that content.

Always good to get an FCS game in here and there. Off topic, regarding recruiting science - curious if you've tried this one, and it may have just been coincidental for me but I felt it made a difference. Maybe I just noticed the names more or focused on them harder. But, it felt like if I had them slotted higher up on my recruiting board, I did better recruiting them. Has that been tested yet to see if it makes any difference or is it strictly hours? This would be the default setting on the list, of course. Speaking of 'crootin' - always love finding a 6'3+ receiver with 95+ speed. It is awesome. Love changing physical wide receivers to tight end, too. Major mismatches constantly.

Maybe it's worth it to do a main video that's more streamlined for KZbin (show the big plays and recruiting and cut off when the game is over so the causals don't leave), and then have a second channel that is full videos or call them something different? I know that's probably a ton more work, but that might help with the algorithm

I'd love to see either sliders make this current series WAY harder like the first couple seasons (perhaps even tone back some of the crazy recruiting like your Ohio State) or start another series if possible to bring some channel variety in general (again despite knowing this could take from the Ball State Chronicles). Regardless, I'm here for all the episodes but I've definitely found myself going from watching every single second to now mostly listening while doing other things. Love the channel & this series but the success turnaround for Ball State happened SOOO quickly that its kind of taken that excitement (& realism) out for episodes for me imo. Ball State getting a 5 star their 3rd year in & beating Georgia away in the fashion you did just definitely makes the team feel like its "complete" and hardly any room for improvement from there on. This creates a sort of predictability for the episodes there on out. And it has nothing to do with your decision making really but with EA & how they effectively ruined the real team building aspects or refuse to fix gameplay issues. Just way too easy to either cheese in-game plays/mechanics like the Jet Sweep or Mid Blitz or abusing the way too generous interest garnered by top tier recruits for teams not in a P4 conference (again no offense but not a single 5 star would even glance at Ball State).
@adamgeigerjr699510 сағат бұрын
35:20 and you can definitely skip the blowout stuff unless obviously theres something crazy there and just add the recruiting as a KZbin Short maybe? idk. I love them but if the majority doesn't like it then forget it

I’d say that you should show only the highlights of the game unless it’s a bowl game, against a top ranked team, or a CFP game, that means you would probably have the series go by quicker and have more room for future series if people get bored of it and you notice views starting to decrease
@maxplayscfb8 сағат бұрын
Yeah I think I may start a second series where I ONLY show the highlights at some point

@maxplayscfb as for 'keeping us around', upping sliders, upping schedule difficulty, decreasing game time, or editing a LOT MORE (only showing the important drives). Last option is very time consuming or expensive (if you outsource editing). You *could* cut your episodes in half: one episode is game, the other is recruiting. Recruiting is usually 5-10 minutes so still in the YT algorithm 'zone' and the games will be cut down to like 20-30 minutes which is closer to what YT wants (10-15 forming form). It will also get you better optics on what people want to watch - do we come to your channel for the games, the recruiting, or both? It'll also give you more uploads which the more you post the more YT likes you (at least for now).

I don't study every minute, but I like looking a few plays, your reads and adjustments. I also get bored in my own games when I'm up 30-40 points. I've gone to manual subs, instead of mass backups. After about 1/3 to 1/2 way through the season, maybe you need to look at your depth chart again and adjust. Move some more speed around, see who has caps, and who needs to play. I adjust my RS players to get their 4 games in (early). Enjoy the series. Not sure what's best for YT, but I do hate the 20 minute videos with 1 min intro, 5 minutes of filler for what could have been said in 8 minutes total. It's why your "science" videos are great. It is what is and I skip others and not watch or interact with their ads.
