How about how different playbooks are in simulation, what if the Georgia playbook is super good and makes Ball State be undefeated but the Ball State playbook makes Georgia have 4-5 losses

Yeah it seems kinda weird. I think a big factor is postion/team need. Like i just had Alabama in my save recruit two 5 star QB (and win them both and both had the same archetype). Oklahoma was also recruiting two 5 star QB's and got 1 and barely lost to UGA on the other. I dont think the AI has a scripted strategy from the beginning of the season with all 2,500 prospects cuz it seems like unnecessary work for an algorithm and no way EA is putting that much time into something lol. I do think its very similar to how a we as the player recruit. For example we are recruiting 3 WR's but we only get 2 while losing out on the last one. So i go and scout more WR's and start recruiting another one. If the AI also loses a recruiting battle somewhere it will go and start recruiting a new player to make up for it. And im sure there is some bias as a player because we always want the best available player but that runs the risk of bigger schools swooping in. So i as 1 star ULM trying to get the 400th ranked prospect, while i would get him eventually. UGA might eventually make its way down to that same guy and he is still best available so with UGA's more hours and way better prestige and school grades snipe him super fast. I think there is also something to be said about being in that prospects top 10 for the AI. I dont see them often going for players where they arent in the top 8-10 for interest week 0

Professional video game developer here... Now I've never worked on any of these EA games and I'm only making an educated guess, but I would be really surprised if the AI makes all of these choices at the start of the year, like Oregon going after some 4* on exactly week 7. I think it makes more sense that there's some algorithm in play to score recruits, probably some combination of recruit rank, position of need, and how interested the recruit is in the school. Then the AI goes after all of its top scored recruits until it runs out of hours. If the school ever has unused hours (someone commits, or a deal breaker hits, etc...) then it does that same scoring algorithm and adds new recruits until all the school's hours are used. So say in week 7 Oregon got a guy to commit and they have 50 more hours available. The AI scores all the possible recruits to add to their board and unfortunately for us, it's that 4* we thought we had all to ourselves. This would also explain why all 32 of those 5* got the same number of offers from the same schools on both saves. That scoring algorithm took place on each save and because the state of the dynasty was the same all the scores were the same and the same offers were given. That does imply that there isn't any RNG to provide variety in the scoring algorithm, though. Love these types of vids, keep up the good work!

Interesting!! Super cool to hear the insight of someone in the industry. Def want to look into it more on a weekly basis. Maybe we assume control of a cpu team, get a look at their board, give up control, advance week, and go look again?
@LucidZzz_
@LucidZzz_ 14 сағат бұрын
@@maxplayscfb Yeah that should be interesting. Especially if you can catch a moment when one of the recruits on their board commits and they add a new recruit. Could be interesting to see what happens if you remove some recruits from their board or remove hours from a target and see what the AI does to fill out those hours. Do they bring back the same guys?

Can’t you offer upfront, get to first… take them off your board. Re add them when your first interest, and get the chance of the insta commit as the cost of 5 hours per commit?

It does make sense to how people act in real life too. Each AI school has types of players they would go after and each AI player probably had a "dream school." I would accept offers from other schools, but if the one I truly wanted to go to came up to me late, I'd still go.

I have gotten 7, 4 or 5 star insta-commits, because by the time I had enough points to get the insta-commit talent, I was pretty much only recruiting 4 and 5 stars (other than the occasional kicker). But while I did get 7 one season, the next season I think I got 2, so it's VERY hit or miss in my experience. And while the insta-commits are nice, they aren't really THAT game changing imo. I mean it is nice to have the base of a class nailed down super early so you can really focus on finding a smaller number of specific players. But honestly by the time I got the talent I was pulling in the top class every year even without it. That's kind of theme to most of the talents imo. By the time you get them, you don't really need them.

There's another factor that you didn't mention for how the differences in sim results would impact recruiting besides just impacting the school's grades. If Auburn has several top recruits on a visit for a big home game against Georgia, winning that game can give them a big boost toward landing those players, where as if they lose that game it can hurt them with those visiting recruits. That could help explain some recruits ended up at different schools in the different save files.

Encourage to transfer during the off-season recruiting, and they'll land on another team. Sometimes, they go back to the original team, though

I think this is why having the extra points available for positions, especially if you can double up with coordinators is important. Especially for players not in your pipeline. You gotta get so far ahead of the team that would normally get them that they can’t catch back up

I feel like I saw somewhere that players have some level of RNG about who they commit to (instant commit chance, and the tossup at the end of the year). It seems reasonable to me that schools/coaches use a very consistent algorithm, but player RNG can make them adjust mid-season.

Thought for you to test…. Is it better to bring a recruit in on a visit for their dealbreaker that’s let’s say a B- or better to bring them in on something they don’t care about such as playing time that’s an A+. To a similar degree, as a low prestige school is it better to hard sell a recruit on a C+, B-, and C+ that are their three interests or is it better to sell them on something like playing time, playing style, and coach prestige that are A+, A+, and B but they have no interest in any of the three, or even one or two of the three. I’ve found that I can soft sell something like example two and get some really good luck in closing a prospect vs similar schools that I assume are hard selling and doing friends and family.
@jeffjernigan3661
@jeffjernigan3661 21 сағат бұрын
You could test theory 1 on a save file fairly easily. I'm likely always choosing higher if it is more than 1-2 points in difference (A+ = 13). Per game rules, penalized more for choosing wrong on a hard sell. If you choose wrong checkmarks (not using sway), then likely you get no points on the 19 scale. Are you asking if the game gives you 1/2 point from wrong focus? That'd be hard to figure out. Even with 1/2 a point, 3 A+ would be 39/2 = 18. A better question is if there is variance when 2 correct equal 19+ and the 3rd red checkmark is an A+ or a D-. When I have 60+ hours, I hard sell on 3 Greens and Soft Sell on 2 Greens (if they exceed 19).

@@maxplayscfb i have a question id appreciate you're thoughts on. Im trying to fingure out a dynasty challenge other than win a naty. In the older cfb games it was most commonly 10 years to get it done and it was hard with lower ranked teams to accomplish. In 25 the game basically hands you a naty in year 4, 5 if you were horribly unlucky with rng. Im asking all the tubers for ideas on what a cfb 25 dynasty challenge should be cause the go-to naty run isnt it this time around. Most common reply ive gotten is restricting recruiting to only the star level your program is, but no ones had a pitch for what the end goal should be in that. Thoughts?

Don’t recruit anything above a 3 star unless a recruit has you #1 in the pre season, essentially from the start. Also don’t cheat and use the coaching tree trick. Start from that school with a created coach with no pipeline affiliation with your team/school. This is what I do/did from the launch of the game which I paid for pre access.
